An update: I've just sent emails out with instructions for people who bought 'Colours' and 'Vantage' packs from my website for you to be able to get the updated version of Colours1 and Skeech respectively. Again, if you think I've missed you, please let me know.

Ok - anyone who I have down as purchasing the 'Refresh' skin pack I've emailed out to. If you don't receive an email from me, please get in touch (tim at essorant dot com). Also if you bought either 'Colours' or 'Vantage' skin packs, but not 'Refresh', then I'll email out the updated Colours1 and Skeech skins separately. I hope you enjoy the updated versions. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" bor

Ah - looks like I'm having the same problem here - Photoshop CS2 seems to start resizing the main Photoshop window itself! As you continue to open files, the main window slowly gets smaller and smaller until only the menu is showing. it does this whether the main window is maxed or not. I also have the flickering windows and temperamental title bars - I think it's possibly just on per-pix skins? Maybe it's back to CS1 for now...<b

Mr Edivion - Actually, although Raven and Jent were part of my Finesse skin pack, I sold less than 80 so not many people will have copies. I agree they won't be new to purchasers of Finesse, but they have been updated to WB5 and hopefully will receive a better reception as part of this new pack with the other three completely new skins. Although they don't all have the 'glassy' look that's popular currently, they are all pretty sylish. (Hope

That seem to give better results. Good idea Boxxi - it'll same a lot of time. I'm going to use the 96x96 png to base the smaller icons on. Nice. Looks like my package might be ready earlier than I expected!

I'll give that a try and see how it compares to making individual sized pngs. My method has been to make a vector image at each of the 8 different sizes, then export them each to 24-bit png with an alpha channel, then create the icon from the pngs. Thanks Boxxi

Maybe some of you expert fellas could help me on this. I'm putting together my first icon pack and I created my designs in a vector art package. I resized the vectors from the original (which I made at 128x128) down through the various sizes to 16x16. In the vector prog they still look fine at that size, but my exported 16x16 pngs look decidedly jaggy. What techniques could I use to make sure that my smallest icons look legible? <img src="http://www.essorant.com/temp/s

Having had a lot of fun getting the text background to work ok on my per pix title bars (it seems the text background doesn't want to be the same height as the actual titlebar, regardless of the content margins), I now find that it doesn't fit the maximised title bar (which uses the same image as the non-maximised titlebar). Any expert out there know what might be going wrong?

It seem to me that you can only either centre, top or bottom align the text on the per pix title bars. Am I right or is it possible to set an offset, like on the 'standard' (i.e. wbv4 non-per-pix) title bar text? Eh? Hmmm? Well?? Thanks. Tim.

Mr greg2 - PUNCTUATION! I almost lost my breath reading that post! WB5 is all about per pixel alpha blending. If your onboard graphics supports that, whether onboard or on a card, then it'll work. It is also possible that getting the current release of the graphics drivers would help too, so check your board manufacturer. Alternatively, mug a granny and buy a big new graphics card. (erm... that's a joke btw) <img src="http://image

I'm a new skinner and just designing my first WB5 skin... Ok - here's the real question. I don;t know what the 'Shellstyle (unofficial)' section in SkinStudio. There are three sub sections - 'additional images', 'embedded strings' and 'blah blah low level blah'. Anyone tell me what those sections are for? I thank you.

It's good to take a break - even neccessary at times. I get bored after doing a succession of skins and need to recharge the batteries from time to time. I've said "that's the last one" on more than one occasion. But after a break there will come a time when you just 'see' an idea for a skin... and you'll want to make it. You'll just have to make it! Then you'll want to share it. So don't say goodbye - make it 'au revoir'. And the
