I assume that the game is balanced around the default races, so I don't really make custom races all that time. Tarth is pretty mid-tier to me. The only low tier faction is Resoln.
Resolin is easy to abuse. Step 1: Turn shard into death Step 2: Pump out troops Step 3: Leveled troops conquer everything in sight.

Had some trouble getting a game that I would enjoy going. World starts are still pretty sparce and many ctrl-N crashes. I am finding that, when I start, I like having two out of three of the following: 2 essence, adjacent forest, adjacent river. I like having my capital be a decent location. [Balance] Turn 2. Magnar is dead and that’s all I have to say about that. http://imageshack.us/a/im

[e digicons]k6[/e] Best countdown vid EVER. You gave us beta testers all a solid look into our efforts and the results of those efforts in real time. But we all know that finding the problems is only 1%. The other 99% goes out to everyone introduced in that vid + all the others that weren't. Huge applause for your efforts!! Really excited for Oct 23 now!! ps. I'm a ctrl-N'er. :P Without 'snaking' to rivers and fo
Quoting dangerlinto, reply 55 The problem, as I see it, is that mountains can't be crossed because there are no flying units and you don't have boats (or swimming units) yet the game insists on using lakes and mountains as internal terrain. Either you accept that you will continue to have this geography, and make lower terrain and raise terrain as accessible as it it now or you re-write the mapping c
Great job, OP! Stardock should pay you for proofreading, preferably (since they allowed major mistakes remain this late in the game - pun intended), or have one of their own grammar aces take a really close look at every single line of text. Mistakes such as the ones you listed make for a very tacky impression. Regards
But they are paying. ;) In a way....they've hired us beta testers

Another option would be the 'mother-city' approach. Other than your initial city, A level 2 city can support up to 3 level 1 cities. A level 3 city can support up to 3 level 2 cities. etc. Thus, if you're empire has not developed enough to HAVE a level 2 city, than you cannot have MORE than 3 level 1 cities. This very simply forces players and AI alike to invest in their cities AND it stops pioneer spamming as we currently un

Remember MoM?? Of course you do... XD It crashed...especially with that Whirlwind spell...really touch and go. I guess what I getting at is: these crashes impact the game less that trying to cast or do something in the game. Most, if not all, are mitigatable. Ultimately, it would be nice if Stardock was able to flush out these last few...but if they do, it will be at the cost of balancing concerns...cause it's being released on Oct 23. The frog has spoken.</p
Quoting coreimpulse, reply 8 In KS, he could have a stretch goal that removes whoring the game to Steamworks. FE doesn't use Steamworks, you can get it from Stardock and never worry about Steam.
While that's true, FE did make some arrangement with Steam. While I can only guess, I have a feeling that the Oct 23 release date is somehow connected to that Steam agreement. In the
*[bug] Highlighting Settle really needs to show the Zone of Control that will be used by the new city. *[bug] Switching between the cloth map and 3D is slower now. It's rather jarring. 3D view is flawless to zoom in and out (and very responsive now!) *[bug] The sound effects for clicking on each of the various research areas are nice, but the Warfare one is too loud and Magic is too soft
These aren't really
It looks like you've tried to fix this by having everybody quick move to their places before I see them move. Ummm, no. That doesn't work. The same problems still exist. In a game last night, I had a guy moving one direction away from a monster. Then I decided to fight the monster so I saved my game and fought the monster and lost. I think I could have probably beat him so I exited the game and loaded m
I've been trying to avoid this in order to see when troops become any good. (haven't played 0.99 yet) I can see myself bumping heroes up to max in the world options too.
You're certainly free to make the spell cost whatever you'd like. Personally, it's fun to use the spell. If it cost more, I wouldn't use it. If you worry you'll abuse it then increase the cost to 10, 100, 1 million or whatever it takes.
Thanks for making Stardock's offcial view clear on this matter. Pretty much settles any further need for debate. [e digicons][/e] </p

Patience. for a developer, it is time to eat aswell.....or however that line goes. XD I did think it would have been out by now though...maybe they're busy abusing those low cost land spells. ;)
