Seriously, folks, this game, thanks to continued attention from the developer continues to improve. If you've been sitting on the fence about purchasing or not, here's your chance at a great price. Note that in contrast to some other new 4x space games coming out, GC3 is entirely turn based. Equally important to me is that their are no Star Lanes! Your ships can move where ever they can reach so strategy isn't lamed to fighting at the bottlenecks caused by those choke poin
I'm less thrilled by the change to winning an influence victory as for me, I end up playing at least several hours extra to win games that I know that I couldn't lose in my worst nightmares. My style is conquest but sometimes that results in an influence victory before I am finished. To me, anything that brings a clearly won game to a quicker conclusion is to be desired. However, if you want to kill everyone not having it spoiled by influence is preferred for some. I&#

I can't recall whether the wheel reset back to where it was after it was shoved to the top bcuz you ran out of money. I thought it reset, but just reload and make sure if if you do reset and still have no production or research, post a screen shot here and/or send in a support ticket with the saved game.
TYVM I think I have this working now.
No matter what I do I cannot find this button and yes I do have the new patch update installed. In the Sponsor Screen, the "Set For All Starbases" button will apply the current settings ( constructor, auto upgrade, and manually manage) to all Starbases. Is this supposed to be a spot where I can click and set these global for all SB with just one click? Please someone post a screen shot of where this is and what it looks like. TYVM .. neilkaz
Yes, this! Where is this so I can plan my strategies based upon tech tree used etc etc?
I play Large galaxies and once again am asking for a global method to turn this off. I find it causes me more time and mousing than previously and the thin green lines everywhere don't enhance what was a beautiful screen. 1) One problem is that my SY's now queue up lousy formulators rather than the much better and 2 construction point constructors that I want to make. 2) When a formulator arrives the top item in the queue is automatically built as it should be. But whe
Not just starbases but it would be nice to set planetary options this way. This wouldn't negate the need for individual settings we need them both. This would be a big help in reducing micro management in a good way without losing gameplayability. Ideological events are really fun when colonizing. It would be nice to some a couple dozen more and new ones either in a DLC or the next X-pack.

Whatever can be done in the UI to reduce mouse movements will be much appreciated. I'd like to see hot keys for building basic structures on planets. I'll make a new thread detailing my ideas soon but want to think about it a bit more. This will be a better game if players can do basic things more quickly and with less mouse movement. There's so much potential in this game and much potential for UI improvement. Stardock makes some RTS games and I urge the UI designers of t
Same here and would like to be able to turn the feature off.

One thing that annoys me is pre orders get exclusive races. Paradox seems to love DLC. I certainly hope Stellaris isn't plague by $200 DLCs. I'm looking at Europa Universalis IV on Steam now for $39.99 and 41 of the DLC are $220.60! Total of $260.59 for a
I usually play Malevolent and L/8/I Large galaxy/8 players (7 AI and normal random minors)/Incredible as it serves my colony rush followed by attacking style very well. Sometimes I'll play Benevolent and while I can still be colonizing a few worlds after Prolific I agree with you that it should be switched with Explorers to make it more useful. As for Enticing, this policy is the only reason I'd ever go Bene and it should be the final pick in the thread as you say sinc

For my attacking style of play at L/8/I (Large/8 players/Incredible) I usually play a custom race. However, if forced to play standard races, I find Drengin to be the best. Malevolent along with Zealous rocks for attackers. Thalan if I can choose to play as a different Ideology than Pragmatic is also very good as their tech tree is awesome and Intuitive means that I am starting my Hive on T1.
Does this happen as a result of having gone through all the Ideological events? Or do they start over once you've had them all? Ideological events when colonizing are one of the fun things about this game. While I know it would be more work for the devs, I'd like to see some new events added along with the current ones in future patches or expansions. Thx .. neilkaz ..
Yes, buy the techs first and then save to avoid this "bug".
It is in the bazaar in my current game and would prefer to see it as a tier 2 merc or possibly tier 1. Most of the time for me, by the time I get to tier 3 I am either winning or getting crushed and an extra planet won't matter.
I haven't found this to be the case with the new betas for the Large galaxies I play in.
@ mormegil... Are you balancing just the ideology buildings or the ideologies in general? It is good that each early building now gives a point every 5 turns rather than 10, since for those of us who don't play enormous galaxies where we colonize dozens of planets it can be quite slow to progress thru the traits unless you are zealous and attack and conquer. I play mostly Malevolent, using the top 3 lines of traits and have a couple of comments. 1) In the Agg
I play large galaxies Incredible or Godlike (I back down to Incredible so far for 1.7 since I am slowed down a bit as my ships can't hold as much as components are larger) vs 7 AI. There's more than enough to do early on. Colony rush, explore, go to anomalies, micro planets, trade with AI etc etc, ok I'll mention colony rush again. I research two drive techs first. I want fast ships.
There's nothing stopping you from building/upgrading the "old" way so there's no need to turn it off. You can still manually build and send constructors to starbases. You can watch the stream for a tutorial of sorts. When we get closer to release and have finalized the system we may produce a more formal tutorial. [/qu
