Sometimes when playing through a game, the ZOC will simply dissapear. I only really noticed it when Tarth kicked me out of their kingdom for tromping around one of their outposts - I thought I was just exploring open land! A game exit will get the ZOCs back, so save-game file would be useless - I'll try and get a screen shot of it next time it happens.

I should mention this was with the Asag wildland. Killed everything in there, got the heart or Morain. Dialogue box closes and nothing is there next turn. Wildlands still wild, quest still tell me to "clear the corrupted tiles" and the heart isn't doing anything for my chosen city (not even listed in details). I upload the saves later tonight

I guess I disagree that edge-scrolling is a must-have issue.
Yeah, I know how it how it works. But the suggestion to make it work better (not to mention internally consistent) is a good one for all the same reasons
You guys know about click'n'drag, right? Edge-scrolling is so 1990's...
Click and drag is not so good when it becomes "click and accidentally fireball only 1 enemy instead of him and his 3 friends". Do you know how many level ups it take to get a defender with 100% fire resist? I put a lot of work into that - least i should get is a tactical ploy gauranteed to draw all the troops into one tight group an

Maybe not as good as an expert player but well into that "good enough" realm for most players. Playing out the tactical battle should give some advantage to the human player vs. autoplay. But it shouldn't take an obvious defeat and turn it into a victory. It should be mo

Limiting range would also be nice, but not entirely necessary at this point.
Are you playing .990? Archers are pretty much always in the back.
Quoting Frogboy, reply 52 Regarding the tactical battle discussion, it's a very tight balance there. Because the game should be won and lost based on the civilization you've constructed over hundreds of turns, not how well you use your units in tactical battles. As some of you know, I lobbied for terrain and other elements in tactical battles and was ultimately convinced that this would simply result in the game boil

I am frankly very, very tired of people hating things and calling them bad for stupid fucking reasons. I don't understand why they have to live in such a black and white world where everything is either great or terrible. And frankly, there are some

If many/more/most people wanted Civ V to be a polished Civ IV, then th

Forget Ctrl+N... give me Ctrl+L (quick load) too! I seriously can't stand getting 3 leather boot for my Sovereign when I KNOW that there are boots and cuirasses in those treasure tiles! Even if Ctrl+L crashes the game as much as loading does not - I'd be pretty happy!

I like where you are going but I think you might have not included in your mechanics the concept of choosing growth over materials and essence in your city location. If you have a garden and granary and you aren't getting to level 3, it's possible you've chosen a spot with too little grain? Like you are choosing the 3/2/2 tile over the 4/2/1 tile or the 3/3/1 tile over the 5/2/0 tile almost all the time... I do like the idea of +X per city level. That sho

This has happened to me as well - this is some of the polish that needs to be put on before release b/c it's the kind of thing people get really frustrated with and projects amateurism. MoM could do this with 8 bits and 320 pixels of UI room.

I think it's that way now if you let the AI get too far ahead in both land acquisition and troops. Last game
