Noob Question in Strategy Sins Forums

Hey just bought Trinity before the weekend. I've been playign with it here and there just learning it. Which version of the game should I play? Regular sins? diplomacy? entrentchment?

I'm still very new to the game. But I just played a small map by myself (pirates only). Just to get a feel for how it would play out. I basically wiated a couple of raids, realized they would pick off the same two planets,and was able to build tactical structures and park a capital ship on each planet. Then... I built up research, got that giant cannon thingy and tore them up lol. Very satisfying lol

Might seem like a dumb question: But is there a way to make sure pirates keep going to one planet that I want them to so that I might implement these strategies?
