I'm not begging or dreaming dude, I'm using it and yes it works fine but some parts need to be updated. For example taskbar is skinned for bottom use only, if I put it on top don't looks fine. And some other things...I'm sure a "restyling" of this great skin would be greatly appreciated for plenty of users

It could be possible to have an update of this GREAT skin https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/windowblinds/6427/ to get Win7/8 FULL COMPATIBILITY (by Stardock or individual community skinner doesn't matter...) ? PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE

I've recently installed Windowblinds 8 on a Win7 machine - Mostly is working fine, but sometimes explorer backgrounds don't get skinned properly I usually get a dark grey background (usually I don't like transparency, so I don't enable it) and even applying textures sometimes is not working . Besides in folder Dowloads and Desktop explorer background is always white , no matter which skin is applied. More, someimes I need to restart PC to apply a
MOEBI_US - Are you using the Trial version of WindowBlinds and if so how long have you had it?
Hankers, at the moment I'm not running anything.. I'm not able to istall correctly the software in my PC. However, about trial period I shoul have a few days remaining, but that is not the point. What I'm interested in is to get WB working ( I mean, " WB appears to be CORRECTLY installed on this PC..." ) , otherwise even
I think build 309 was the one that loaded as Windows Classic on reboot which was fixed with build 310. (I may be wrong, been known to happen)
You are right, that was build 309. What do you mean "...which was fixed with build 310. " ? Is it a "known bug" of .309 ?
Quoting DrJBHL, reply 33In a nutshell: You cannot have WB and VS simultaneously and have WB work. It won't work on an altered .dll file. End of story. . Patching system files will prevent WindowBlinds from working properly as WindowBlinds is depending on "clean" "un-patched" Windows system files. .
Are you really sure about that ? How do you know ? Well, I can tell you this :

Oh, I think there has been a misunderstanding. I already runned sfc /scannow after WB crash BEFORE installing any VS or patching any system files, and I tried to reinstall WB, but wiyh no results (...not installed correctly..). Now I tried again, runned sfc / scannow, restored all system files, restarted, cleaned registry , reinstalled WB..no result [e digicons]x_x[/e] After, I even tried to install WB with UAC disabled...nothing. In my opinion, as I already wrote
Ah that's fine, That's just WbVista service it's windowblinds service that was being removed. All is normal in that department. Using patched files could cause confliction. If the values don't exist in registry then that's fine also. sfc /scannow will fix any corrupt system files and thus if your registry is errornous then sfc/ scannow will repair this problem. Just my two cents windowblinds is by far superior to VS .
<
That's definitely not normal stuff going on. Maybe before the full wipe, try an sfc scan: -click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'. -If UAC is enabled, click 'Continue' -Type: sfc /scannow -Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes) -When the scan has completed, please let us know the re
It's strange that you got the error "Windowblinds was not installed correctly" because Windowblinds was made for all current Windows operating systems. It sounds stupid but did you try running the installer as administrator ? I would recommend using revo uninstaller to uninstall windowblinds then restarting your PC and try installing again. Revo uninstaller will remove any trace in registry and any file associated with Windowblinds (providing

Oh, I got a very similar issue just in these days...On a W7 SP1 x86 I was running WB 7.3 trial version and everything was fine. Just few days ago, when I started the PC I got a blue screen (?!!?); after a couple of minutes taskbar appeared in Windos Classic style (even W7 Aero default was disabled) !!! I checked WB, and I tried to apply some skins, but Windows Classic style was always there. I checked the software and I found message "...WB apperas not to be installed correctly .." By t
If you apply a really dark texture to Pillars I think you will like the results.
Oh, that was already done, and yes, the result is very good ( well, at least in my opinion...) [e digicons][/e] <img style="float: left
Well, I really don't do sub-styles either other than for the different OS's, but I can think about doing a dark theme next.
Oh sorry you are right. You always provide substyles fot XP, Vista and 7. Well, thanks for your reply. Hope to see a dark skin from you soon, I'm sure you can do great.
Sorry, but Pillars is about as dark as I get nowadays. Doing totally dark styles interferes with a lot of applications otherwise. Thanks for the nice comment.
Oh, I was not talking about Pillars (of course "totally dark" interferes with some applications; I never spoke about "totally dark"... ) I was wondering about your future skins. Any chance to get some dark substyles included as well?

24 Replies 10,908 Views

I really like your skins , LightStar ( well, not all, but most of them; at the moment I'm wearing Pillars, congrats on the feature..) Just, I really would like to see a dark substyle too sometimes...A dark substyle would have been absolutely great for several skins of yours Any chance to get it?
