Im not sure you can really blame the players here, im pretty sure everyone posting here has already paid you for ashes and the fact that they are visting this games forum says they are passionate about ashes. Me personally I paid twice the normal price as a lifetime member to get ashes brought to life as I believed in the idea early on and wanted to get it going. I have already done my part. either as a company you believe in ashes or you don't, you can't rea

The problem with expandalones just from a customer point of view is that we honestly don't see why you can't just buy a game and that's it, from now on you get all dlc for free, because it's not dlc or expansion just updating the original game. Why can't the simple addition of new free content at regular intervals be enough to get customers buying a game. Game developers have almost talked them selves into justifying the charge for dlc packs And expansions beca
I think sins was fine as was but just needs to be on a better engine. The slow down late game is a killer. sins 2 would get a pre order from me... And that's saying something after no mans lie ruined pre orders for everyone.
You could just make tournament completely free then those wanting a free ride make it a better experience for those playing already but ultimately if they want more than ranked tournament play they have to buy escalation. I I think this works well because you have said only 5% play ranked yet it is the part which which relys most on numbers. I know I would certainly play more ranked if it wasn't a 17 min wait and only ever other gold level player
yeah i got my arse handed to me haha.... will have another go tonight but yeah after a bit it just slings constant dreads / nukes at you. its basicaly about getting enough infrastucture inplace in those 2 key points to hold out long enough to eventually spam dreads and slowly edge forward with nulifiers.
[quote who="peter_neate" reply="8" id="3651691"] I've been thinking a bit more about this issue, and have a different proposal. Your biggest issue is the number of players. Which is massively constrained by graphic card users who also like RTS. So; - Graphically gimp the game. Remove zooming. Remove awesome graphics. Animations. Everything. Remove anything intens
[quote who="psychoak" reply="4" id="3651664"] Gameplay needs to get deeper or faster if you want to grow the community significantly, preferably deeper. Considering hardware requirements, it's probably not going to grow much though, people with high end machines can afford to buy it just for a look. Pseudo F2P will be a short term bandaid, few will stick around for the duration, the vast majority of your non-active players probably wont even bother giving theirs out.
After that thread on steam i literally have played through all the campaign on hardest just to get to this mission.. :P i would rather have too hard / impossible than a campaign that is a push over haha. will have a crack tonight and let you know.
Hmm I had know idea this was possible it really deflates my enthusiasm for ranked to be honest, over than questionable tactics really thought it was all honest stuff. That might explain the match against ironman who was ranked 10 I think and he wiped the floor with me on that small map with 4 turinum points in the middle. He rushed straight through with a dread after what must have been 5 mins. I had a few tech 2s. I honestly thought it was just him rush
I'd b interested to know a list of units limited by restricted radar ie chronos and which units are aided by increasing radar range. I'm assuming of course tha current units can shoot out side of vision range of it can se enemy on radar. If they can't then yeah it needs improving if I'm going to spend my hard earned quanta on it ..
mate, the ranked games where I roll over the enemy's are my fav haha don't take them away :p i struggle to see how the enemy beat me in the games where I got smashed by lvl 1 players. They just steam rolled me and there's little or no info on these forums for getting better. You just have to play and suck it up. I sometimes fly over the enemy base for ideas on my way out. I think replays will certainly help people get better quicker. <
3.5 I heard with 512 reserved for smaller faster operations. but I haven't looked into it Really. It doubles my ashes bench mark score just from changing the graphics card.
I upgraded from a Gtx 580 to a 970 for £200. The cost of 4gb cards is plummeting and will continue as the new ranges are released. A 950 is 100 delivered and has 2gb ram, and is much better than my 580 Gtx. After reading this I'm glad I payed the extra and went for the 970 now. It does play smoother But not to much change going from low to high to be honest. Although to be far to the 580 it did a good job. Whens the next u
Just putting this out there, could we have a separate ui button on screen which gives us the dreads upgrade options ? Maybe on the left near the engliner ideal button. When you have a stack of dreads all occupying the same space and when in battle it's really difficult to click on the dread that needs upgrading. Just a little fine tuning needed here. Ususlly you just need to click the upgrade and crack on with other things, a separate ui prompt with out needing t
Hi, my PC ran it fine it was an old i7, 12gb ram and Gtx 580. I used optimised settings so it was mostly low. There was occasional screen tears as you moved with the arrow keys, I think it certainly could be better but was very much playable. so I just upgraded to a 970 for 218 quid delivered. specs wise it's tripple the spec of my 580. So at 200 I couldn't really grumble for a quick upgrade. I cant justify a whole new rig just for ashes. &n
I want and will buy a Sins 2. basically what they have done with the ashes engine but sins 2 would be awesome, anything less than this level of game engine technology would be pointless.
yeah mine all seem to download fine.
I'm never a huge fan of stand alone add ons i mean look at the mess elite dangerous made with there's, but as someone who plays games mostly against ai, I have to say I really am enjoying the ranked games, only on occasion would it pair me against someone rank 1 when I was 8. I assume that's lack of players online, so this kind of incentive seems to me only a good thing for encorging players into the rank que. with regards the update, I get the impression that the m
hi all, are then any guides / how to's on getting better ? Getting a bit lost to be honest as you get further into the game. I mean I've played a fair few skirmish so I know how to play the game at a basic level but can't beat the normal ai. tried a ranked 1v1 and just got steam rolled. Not sure if match making takes skill level into account when creating matches. I think the issue I have is I kind of get lost mid game. Ie there is a l
I liked base defenses to start with especially the new laser turret, but quickly realized they really are under-powered the moment the computer gets any artillery or a t3 they walk all over it, it becomes a stalemate or simply who ever captures the most metal points the quickest wins type game. ultimately it seemed better building units, and since they are still difficult to select on mass and organised i found the initial joy at how awesomeness the map style and the hardness of the ai
I would play multiplier verses humans if there's a ranking system in place. I'm not one for just sitting in a lobby and eventually someone joins only to get smashed in 30 secs by someone with more spare time than me. sup com fa did this ranking system well. I also liked the 4 vs 4 because again there was labeled games novice intermediate expert etc and you had 3 others to back you up. Otherwise i I just play me verses ai hard / very hard
Just for the record my graphics card is a gtx 580 1.5 gb ram and it runs fine in dx12. So the minimum requirements arnt absolute.
I fixed my issue FYI by either a combo of the latest patch and or setting the actual dx12 exe in the steam folder to boot as administrator always
What made you think to install that ?
