Not seen it asked yet but will there be your classic end game units that everyone enjoys progressing through the tech tree for ? Examples might be titans, experimentals, krogoth ;) I think part of sup coms big success was the the experimentals, i duabt it would have been half as popular without them. And what about your other end game weapons like nukes, big berthers or other similar end game long range weapons. With the Extra graphics afforded by

As proven by the 250 fps in res evil 5, just like you can argue there are no dx12 games yet so no need for it , i could also argue that your entire rig was not needed .. Yet! You could play that on 1/10th the machine. But we don't because we want the latest, so why should that be any different for an os. there's not a single game using your pc to even 1/4 of its potential. I'm not even going near a new rig until win 10 is out. Then I will see what c
Not sure what your on about there, arguing the toss on what is a pc gamer ? I'd say anyone who can't use playstatioN or xbox controller ;) ;) the dx12 benefits to none dx12 from what I've read will be minimal.. But that's like playing treasure island dizzy and wondering why your quad core processor hasn't inproved it. You'll start to see a lot of the games switch over to the multi core ultilization in win 10, over the next year and when your mates getting
Windows 10 is the only os that will run dx12 ... I don't care if it is pink with my little pony theme that's unchangeable.. There won't be a single pc gamer left on any other os other than 10 after its release. If they are then they have there gaming head buried deep in the sand. Dx12 is a game changer.
Just with regards strategic zoom , in sup com it was more of a ui / navigational tool, if I needed to be somewhere else I'd scroll back, glance at the overall map like a giant mini map and zoom in to micro management building or fights. Same as sins, zoom out glance zoom in, rinse and repeat it almost removes the need for a mini map, I certainly wouldn't play the game while zoomed out. Both games had enough to do economy wise, tech wise, buildings and individual fights to
What did frogboy call it a "comp stomp? " I didnt know know the us verses ai thing was so popular it got a name haha I don't know why but me and my friends never seemed to play multipler verses on sins it was always us verses ai and they always turned in to endurance sessions haha i brought galactic trading company the new star dock game and they games are just over way to quick against the ai, there's no way to string them out and really strateg
Not sure if 5k will be my goal, we have suffered with games grinding to a crawl for so long it will be interesting to not have that as our one goal we want achieved from an RTS haha, but yeah I'm looking forward to some epic coop games verses multiple ai and seeing how it scales. Ill be playing on my current i7 machine but will no daubt invest in new hardware once this games released and we start to see benchmark tests so I know what direction to go with the new rig, and it will be
I wonder what effect this game will have on future hardware, I mean the general trend of exponential cpu speed doubling year on year sort of stopped happening Because computer hardware finally became more powerful that software. And it's been about 5 years that way still with most of my programs sitting in the 32bit program files folder and not able to fully use the hardware. And nothing truly pushing my hardware which is old now. Maybe this this g
The control nodes in each region dictating whether you can mine that region should be sufficent incentive to keep players battling over regions without the need to the ticking timer, so yeah it should be an optional victory condition. Length thy wise if I'm playing sins it would generally be me verses many ai's set the the hardest level I can manage, then play it like a survival game for as long as I can. It's weird how we come up with our own ways of
I imagine it will be like sins, you build factory's which you can then build units from.
Me too as above saw the email and couldn't resist a 64bit sins / sup com love child. Anyone know now when us founders get to try it ? Do we get much input or is it just to find bugs or none of the above ?
It's pre alpha, I imagine it's basically an open field ,/ sand box for testing only at the moment, the he key concept to take away from this atm is the technology which is 64bit which hopefully means we finally have a rts fast enough to give us epic ai battles with out slow down. As mentioned it's probably a year away from useable, I still brought it though. Tech demo was enough gb for that for me to support it,
As a massive total annihilation / supreme commander forged alliance and then sins of a solar empire rebellion fan I must admit I'm really looking forward to this. me and a friend would often play sins on multiplayer with us verses the ai so hopefully this game will have similar features, I also really like sins research tree style. Obviously a big limiting factor of sins was when you had say 4 ai verses 2 humans and mid to late game even with the highest spec machine it wo
