I think the whole point of this RTS is to push some gaming boundaries so might be worth switching over to your more powerful machine. My G card and computer is pretty old maybe 5 years i guess, albeit expensive when i did buy it, and i would consider mine near minimum spec it has a nvidia GTX 680 in it with 2gb of ram. In graphics terms its pretty out of date features wise. im sure it can still play everything fine i would imagine but im under no illusion that im nearer the
I caught the stuff about oculus rift looks pretty sweet if they can get hands working so you can see them moving on screen. and yes Nvidia fan boy here too, bad experience with amd drivers left me sour for life.
Unfortunately if you are on a mobile on your twitch TV channel it just says offline.. I switched to desktop version and it appeard straight away .. Boo ..
am I missing something because it's said star dock offline for the last two hours ?
I agree I have seen the zoom out on the latest founders videos and it is quite far, I think the topic got a little confused. I think the assumption was that you would be tied into a very tight narrow point of view only. But there appeared to be a nice amount of zoom in and out.
I remember having trouble trying to connect, I'd show up and try and jump into a big setons crutch match but get kicked as I or someone else was nil ping, would take ages getting a game going. Ultimately though once the ports where all correctly forwarded it worked fine. Still though many would try to join and be nil ping. no finer example than easy join multiplayer is paramount, I imagine many players gave up on fa multiplayer before even getting to have ago.&nb
Cool, so we report anything we see. This is my first alpha / bug test so looking forward to it. Is there any particular format you need us too layout replys in, like pc spec / operating system then the bug / issue found? Do you know what the time frame will be from reporting issues to there being some kind of fix / reply / new build version released? I will be starting testing on windows 8.1 but alas bugs or no bugs when win 10 is RTM i will be switching to that in
Hi Frogboy, Just watching the video the radar signature appears light blue on the shroud which is dark blue which im assuming will be black at some point. is this normal that the radar signature shows up like that over the shroud? and with regards radar i didn't see a specific building does it come as default with the HQ or are you planning on a specific radar building / building radar building upgrades or specific upgrade which allows increasing levels of radar distance in
Yup the map / zone control in the video looked really good / interesting. not seen the latest vid yet will check it tonight.
Man.. You must have made a ton on sins.. Billy bargain at 1 million I say .. Love that game.
Its not really an agenda, its simply a great feature which i enjoyed from many games i think we are just confused about how its going to be possible to navigate maps which are supposed to take units hours to cross without something as convenient as strat zoom, sup com, sins, even civ 5 allows a little bit of movement outwards, and im sure you know of many more that utilize the feature, so its not like the many who have suggested it are all demanding a specific sup com clone. No
Video was good with the voice over although it cut short for me I might try downloading again. I I liked the PDFs too, as you say it was interesting getting some background on game decisions.
[quote who="Frogboy" reply="10" id="3557766"] When someone tells me that most players don't play SupCom zoomed out, they lose a lot of credibility with me. I have thousands of hours playing SupCom over the years. The entire team here has similar experience. Most of the late game was spent playing zoomed out looking at icons. If SupCom fans want to sabotage the game because we're unwilling to make a clone of it, they'll find themselves
Yeah ladders would be cool, also auto opponent finder for ranked matches. It allowed for a very fair ladder system on sc:fa, until it closed down that is. I would also love to see specific scenario missions released like ta:core contingency pack that added the Krogoth encounter mission which was epically hard. Then also have some kind of ranking system for that too. Say it was an "impossible" scenario people could see how far or long they can last in it.
i love steam, it's convenient, I don't have a bunch of hard copies gather dust in the corner, and for anyone above the age of 18 .. and with a job .. it allows those of us who are time crunched to load up what ever game we need and game with friends easily. I wish all games where on steam it would make life easier. I just don't see the need to complain about them just because they are turning a profit, sometimes you need to be a behemouth in this world to have
Yes especially if there's a sins of a solar empire 2 founders badge as well Cough cough nudge nudge wink wink ;) ;)
Play testing :( now we are all jealous :p
I've brought it but it's weird just based on the galciv time line I won't be playing this game properly for more than a year from now .. hopefully when the ui is done we get to have a little fiddle about with it. I'm not sure how much of our feedback will be listened to but im looking forward to having a go and providing feedback, the idea seems interesting in itself .
Over all strategy can work at t4 level too it depends how much there is at the experimental prototype level. You could do spiderbot in supcom or artillery or nukes or stick with a t3 and maybe do a transport rush. that game had a lot of strategys yet still had lots of different end game units and buildings. sins was obviously an example of a lot less end game units and buildings to choose from with just the large Titan and the super weopon to build. But I liked the u
I would like some impossible scenarios added that are ranked with some kind of timed survival or points system. Did you ever play the krogoth encounter mission when it first came out everyone thought it was impossible and I dropped a large amount of time in it figuring out my own solution (before you could just you tube search the answer) adding some kind of ranking system maybe like modern warfares coop ranking maybe you could add them as single scenarios t
I had multiple monitors for supcom as that game supported the second monitor for dedicated mini map it sounds so great on paper but honestly it never got used by me and as far as I know by other highly ranked players, your simply to busy multi tasking to take the time to look away from your monitor when you can simply scroll back with the top mouse button and save time looking away from the screen. Multi monitor for show, zoom for go!

@reddwarf Soz but i wanted to contribute early to the game as i respect the game and the fact that its pushing some RTS boundaries technology wise which will eventually benefit me in a year with hours of play. Obviously its nice that they have decided to give those that have contributed to the game early on a little sneak peak at pics, free life time updates and access hopefully soon to the pre alpha. You obviously want to contribute to but cant afford to, im sorry for tha
