Well, it's not an actual border, as in nation, in GalCiv3. You have an area of influence. If an AI grabs a colony within your area, they run the very real risk of losing that planet to your influence. This is the consequence of colonizing within someone else's area of influence. Once you have 2x influence over their planet, the timer starts and there's an increasing chance that you'll annex the planet. I like it, since it's a free planet that'
I use open borders for the diplomacy assist. If I eventually want to ally with an AI, I find it very helpful. It has no downside that I'm aware of.
Most propably you have noticed that "Sentry" - command doesn't work also (same symptoms than "Guard").
I haven't figured out "Sentry" yet. Guard (hotkey "q") works to let me end the turn unless I add a ship to the fleet, so that's all I need. Maybe Sentry is only for armed ships?
Mine is also showing up as Opt-in V1.1. I haven't opted in yet and will wait until a dev says it's ready for that.
Since I own two copies of the game, can I have another 5 wishes? Actually, just one more... Please let me get rid of the background nebula on the main map.
Tried out a Metaverse game on Crippling. I didn't build a military until the Yor attacked. Seeing "Defeat" on the first fleet battle was pretty funny. I hadn't seen that screen for a long time. I thought my first fighters looked pretty good. Not good enough though. It was the only war I fought. I got alliances with the other races and the Yor surrendered to the Thalan. The game wouldn't post to the Metaverse until I made I
It sounds like one of you has a different version or might have a mod enabled. It might be best for both of you to double check the mods. If one mod is a different release, even though it's the same mod, you can get the error when connected to each other. You should both also check your game version and impulse reactor version when online. You can do this by hosting a password protected game and looking at <a href="http://demigodthegame.com/opengames.
lol. Hey Neilo! Are there 3 of us playing now? That has to be some kind of record as of late, huh? [e digicons][/e]
Hey Mumble. Mottikhan in my Demigod clothing here. I'm pretty sure the earliest date is March 8. As far as the rest, I'm not sure.
It's not a total waste to play against the AI in MP. For beginners, it can be a quick way of gaining favor points so you can buy better favor items in later MP games. You don't get to keep the favor points you accrue for the game, but you keep the points for every achievement you complete. That, and no loss added to your stats if you care about that sort of thing. Granted, it's faster to gain the points by playing the Pantheon or custom MP and staying eve
While all of you were wasting time arguing, I completed worldstrider's mod. I'll upload it as soon as I get access to the internets. Donations in small unmarked bills please. [e digicons]:dog:[/e]
This happened to me after the game said it was connecting, but before it had a chance to begin. The other guy won after playing for 20 minutes against, I assume, an AI. The reason I'm bringing this up isn't to complain, but to inform some folks that it happens. I saw a thread earlier that pointed a finger at a fellow player and refuse to resurrect that one. I'm thinking that we can give our fellow players the benefit of the doubt unless there's a veri
Quoting Prussian-Havoc, reply 1950 current games and over 150 players online... good news! http://store.steampowered.com/stats/
Thanks for that link! +1 internets to you. [e digicons][/e]
I haven't had to wait more than a few minutes to get into a game so far. The Pantheon is kind of limited, but there are loads of custom games going on at any one time.
It's a decent and fairly addictive game. I've had several online matches and the Steam community so far has been fun and inviting. Lots of people are helping each other get the hang of it. For under 7 bucks, it's worth a try.
