hmm no.. anything that uses the WDM.exe may increase allocated memory on.. Processes like svchost, searchUI, searchindex, RuntimeBroker etc do not.. only processes that have or use a window that displayed or running on the desktop have there textures etc stored in vram and used by dwm.exe.. I also did some more testing and found out if I do not have any of the deskscape windows services running DWM.exe runs normal. also 8.21 on Win8.1 x64 with the same backgro

No just deskscapes 8.49 and Start10 1.02 now.. icons are locked to the wdm.exe has see as high as 800mb but most the time idles around 200 or lower @ 3-7% cpu time and DShost.exe likes to crash from time to time... sometimes loading apps and games.. other times just moving windows around..... 70% stable and the 30% is a mixtures of other issues... Currently using Dual monitors as well..

On my windows 10 pc deskscape is pushing my WDM.EXE to use a whopping 640+ meg of memory. On my windows 8 with 8.21v it was no were close this amount with the same video / setup...

I just finished doing a clean install with nothing else installed expect beta 8.49 and there are a few issues First off I running MulitMOnitrs 2x1080 First off The moment I install the Icons are locked on the desktop Right click a icon on the desktop will crash DSHOST.exe and will restart it.. In 2 cases it completely crashed DSHOST.exe, SD8Srv.exe and Deskscapes64.exe and forced me to have to re load the application.. When it dose crash the icons become unlocked..

Same error.. I can prove this is a DeskScapes 8.49 beta issue on windows 10 x64 at lest.. Fresh clean install WITH NOTHING beside desk scape 8.49 installed.. the moment i installed the icons are locked. rebooting dose not help

A little bit off topic.. Its nice to see mods/devs replying to this thread, as well as constant progress on start10. I have the menu installed on 1 Tower, 1 TouchScreen laptop, and 1 HPSlate7 tablet... How ever I have another tower still stuck on Windows 8.1 due to the fact there's no working version of deskscape for WIn10. And I refuse to leave it behind on my main gaming rig... any indication when deskscape beta for WIn10 will hit the nets. I have 1 PC that its a must have a

people hes on Windows 8.0... and can't get 8.1 to install.. And u need 8.1 full uptodate before u can upgrade to win10, ON windows 7 u need Windows 7 Sp1 fully updated before you cna upgrade. You will need to go into Regedit, and manually remove all traces of Stardock entries.. that should clear up all issues regarding windows thinking u still have deskscape install.. FTW this will also remove allll stardock related registry including Start 8 etc.

first off I been useing win10 since the first build and I too em kind of a MS/WIn fanboy.. second Deskscapes dose not work at all on Win10 RTM, fully updated, drivers, and codects and deskscapes jsut freezes on startup, the thing with Server 2016 is Cortona is not included, Modern apps are not included, and the only negative thing I can see is edge is included 3 Main things I hate about win10 is Cortona, Modern apps, and edge.. I like the old Search more, IE

I use K-lite mega .. and no it doesn't Deskscape DO NOT WORK on Windows 10 (RTM) its 110% broken, I had to system image restore back to my 8.1 before the upgrade solely because of this reason alone

actually the windows 10 Pro key I have via the upgrade is good for any PC... it was upgrade from a retail copy and there for I received a retail *transferable key* all my Win10 upgrades were done of a retail copy.. I only buy retail

apparently though I personally didn't actually post it twice... must have been a forum glitch.. good news is since I did the upgrade once again.. I used Jelly Bean Magic key finder and made a complete inventory of my Windows 10 and COA key. So I can reinstall or upgrade win10 at any time with my key and no longer have to uses windows update to do the upgrade in the future
