Honestly I think the best solution would probably be a suite of small nerfs to various areas & added counters rather then one or two heavy nerfs. That said, with more severe nerfs it would be possible to achieve the same results by only nerfing one or two areas. The battleship & flak chan

I agree that corvettes counter too many things. And due to their agility they are hard to actually mobilize counters against. That said I think they should counter LRF and capitalships well. Their entire role was to form a counter for the two dominant factors of the diplomacy early-mid game: carrier capitalships and LRF- both of which previously didn't have a counter. Honestly the changes I'd prefer seeing would be: <p

They deal composite damage so their damage type is very flexible. They decimate LRM frigates. They are very wells uited to being used as a counter for capitalships as well(as long as the capitalship in question doesn't have AoE damage. In particular they are amazingly good at killing carrier capitalships. They have a bit of an advantage on LF With some micro(exploiting the slow turn speed of frigates to attack from behind) they win agai

When I play TEC, I personally don't feel like I'm waiting around all that much for abilities and that shield regeneration is very useful, allowing the ship to regen 810 shields over the course of the duration. I still feel like it should increase the bank targets though... [/quote] Hmm, perhaps I'd underestimated the natural regen rates of TEC capitalship

Might be useful it it had a superlong duration like the loyalist's Assimilated populace so that by staying on the offensive you could potentially keep it up at all times. The problem is that the time you which you need antimatter least is immediately after conquering a planet. At that point you've already won the battle- and more to the point it doesn't allow you to just immediately move on to the next conquest as leaving your newly acquired

The real problem with culture isn't with the techs IMO- it's the game constants. Most specifically it's too easy to defend against culture with friendly culture. You can easily have twice the culture rate of an adjacent enemy world and not even have your culture on their doorstep. More to the point, early game when players are likely to only have 1-2 culture buildings tops on a given front, the culture techs are more or less unnoti

I dunno. Titans and corvettes, while only "2 new ships" are complete gamechangers. Corvettes offer direct counters to some of the most popular strategies in Diplomacy(mass LRM frigates & carrier rushes), and moreover complete the cycle of early game frigate counters: LF Previously it went something more like: LF<LRM<SCOUT- and due to the low general military utility of scouts, most ra

Also I have been meaning to mention a very interesting idea someone had a while ago in another thread with regards to Animosity: What if animosity were made to be targetable rather then automatically applying to the radiance? This would add a great deal of late game usefulness as it could taunt enemies onto your titan/starbase(both far more capable of taking the punishment then radiance at that stage of the game). Honestly I still think boarding parties should deal shield-piercing damage, but the damage should be reduced a bit accordingly(making it shield piercing will essentially be increasing the damage by a factor of 2 or more afterall). Besides, doen't make much sense that shields are preventing a boardign party that's already on board from causing havoc. I think something like 20/25/30/35 DPS would be appropriate(that's 200/325/480/665 damage straight to hull over 10/
