... iconpackage on the way; unfortunately i lost over half the icons i had created in a harddrive failure (hey... thats life ) and now i'm recreating them. I'll upload the package by this friday, although probably with only around 90 icons. (I was at over 200 before) <img src=

hey, i saw your post in my old thread... Hmm, i havn't worked with logons in so long, so this might be wrong first off, i do not believe it is possible to change the size of the scrollbar; if you use large graphics i think they will automatically be resized down to the regular size. to change the spacing between user accounts and scr

One quick question, do you think Alienware would actually make the suite available to the public if this petition will get the required number of signatories? I mean, Stardock doesn't hold the right to distribute the suite; neither The Skins Factory. It's Alienware who holds exclusive rights for its distribution. </TABLE

I havn't used objectbar in a while, but perhaps you need to play around with the z-order settings of the bar you're working with? If you set it to always on bottom or desktop level, you windows should maximize on top of the bar. If you still want to see the bar when you maximize the window and you only want the window to maximize up to the edge of the bar, then you might need to go and tweak the desktop area settings. hope this helps. <img s

It would help if you elaborated more on your question... if you mean how can you make your dektop look like one in a screenshot, then you will have to find out which skins the author used in the screenshot and download them one by one and applying them.

I think that public moderation is the best way to go. By letting the entire community see what is bad and what is being moderated, people know what not to do and how they should behave. However, i do believe that sometimes, the 'cops' on this site are too polite. Instead of putting up with them all the time, repeat offenders should get banned, or at least punished more harshly... perhaps some sort of warning system would work, where every time a user d

hmm... i have a couple of feature requests to add to that list: Object Dock: have an option to have a delay before the dock autohides itself. Right now, if I set the bar to autohide, as soon as my mouse leaves the dock it disappears. It would be nice if there was a setting where I could set it to delay a few seconds before the dock disappeared, or even better, have some sort of hotspot where I could lock the bar in the visible position.

I've tried DAP, it looks pretty but its not that great, I've had problems where it doesnt recognize the end of a file and keeps downloading i-don't-know-what, even after the correct filesize has already been downloaded... Since then, i've switched to flashget. Its worked fine for me and i know it supports full length dvd-9 size files, and its got all the functionality I need: up to 10 connections per file, resume broken downloads automatical

Please just respect Apocalype's rules and decisions whether you think its fair or not. I apologize if I sounded like I was ranting against the rules, and i completely respect all that you guys have done to put together this competition. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor

thanks for the update, but I just have one question: how exactly are the skins to be judged? from what i see, it's based on overall downloads by unique wincustomize users, but wouldn't that give those skins that are submitted earlier and unfair advantage? i believe you should instead judge the skins by taking the highest download count of a single day for each of the skins, instead of downloads overall... anyway, just my thoughts.

don't u think they need to train pilots how to handle a plane a little better? or at least make a rule that says that people to drink or do drugs can't handle a plane? nope... these people train for months before they have a chance to get into the cockpit of one of those huge airliners, and they are t

Here's a little background behind the name "Longhorn" for those who are interested... Windows XP was originally codenamed "Whistler". After XP, the next version of windows was dubbed "Blackcomb". Both Whistler and Blackcomb were supposedly taken from the names of two adjacent mountains... in British Columbia i think... However, Microsoft decided that they weren't ready to release BlackComb yet, so they started an intermediary version. They decided to c

hehe... school admins ARE dumb... one of the admins came up to me one day since i was sitting at a computer but not really using it, and he asked me to log on to some account which ran a network update... anyway, he GAVE me the user and password to an ADMIN acct... how much dumber than that can you get? (I havn't done anything with the account though... so you guys cant rant at me about honor and moral codes, etc. <img src="http://images3.sta

... It seems as if some of your files got corrupted when the computer died the first time. If its due to corrupted windows files, you can stick in the windows cd and choose "repair windows xp" option which i think will just reinstall windows files without wiping the rest of the hdd. or, (this is what i do a lot when a virus, etc. has compromised windows) get knoppix, which you can boot from cd, and from there, you can access all the files on y

The only thing i liked about the whole setup was the vectorized graphics... if only they could implement a full color version of that into windows xp (they supposedly are going to do that for longhorn)...

Be patient... sometimes it takes acouple of days for them to process it. When you update a skin, the moderators have to remoderate the skin, and it becomes part of the queue of hundreds of skins that they have to look at a day (at least I think thats how it works)...

hmm... that "Public Family Room" reminds me of a dx theme i saw a while back... in fact, its almost identical... i cant remember what the theme was though.

Depending on what system setup you have, it might take a while for applications to archive, especially if you have a lot of skins, or if the application in question is a large one. What archiving literally does is copy all of the files and zip them, so if you have a slow processor or not enough memory, that might be the cause of the hangs you experience. Also, one of your files might be corrupt, and the archiver can't read the file and freezes

and if it doesnt work for you, then you should just roll back your wb version to the last stable version and wait for then to address the issue (if it is a wb issue)

I've used both nvidia and ati, and both were about the same. Ati seemed to have better image quality overall, although since neither of my cards are one of the more recent ones, I would not know if nvidia has addressed that issue or not. One problem that I did have with the nvidia card though was that after a year and a half of usage, some of the capacitors began to leak and burn out... It also depends on what you are going to use the card for

If reducing hyperpaint seemed to help, then perhaps it is a graphics card problem... hyperpaint uses your hardware (such as gfx card) to make windowblinds run faster; maybe try turning it off?

NNNOOOOOooooo!!!!! I hope there is an option for turning off that preview so I can still see the icons on my desktop... corel draw 12 already has a kind of implementation of that, it's too small to be of any use in id'ing files, and it looks ugly too. <img src="http://imag
