I have explored a relatively small area of the Anthys map but have yet to come across a quest...lots of treasure huts etc but no quests. I know thise map is very big but typically there are quests available close to where you build your first city. I have it on "balanced" quests in the options. Do I just need to explore more or are quests very rare in this map? I have explored about 15% of the map.

I would like to be able to reduce my encumbrance using the strength trait but I am at level 5 and have not seen "strength" as an option when leveling up since I was level two. did i miss the chance to pick it or are trait choices random?
are these trade good species dependent...am I able to unlock all the trade goods?

I typically like to trade techs for techs that will take me longer than 8 weeks to complete...my problem is that when I am in the diplomacy screen I can’t remember which techs will take the longest time to develop so I have to go back to my tech screen and write this info out. How do you folks go about exploring the galaxy in an efficient and quick manner? I typically send out my "mother ship" to get anomalies but it gets sucked into wormholes and is all over the place...don't mind as its picking up stuff anyway. I build colony ships and use them to explore...I typically do this manually. But it seems pretty slow. I am playing on the large map.
Anybody have a list of the colors associated for each of the techs in the tech tree?

Do the bonuses conferred by the planetary improvements stack? So if I build 2 traditional factories do I get 8 mp a week etc?
