Heh yeah, you definitely picked an easy difficulty if you're getting that far. It looks like just a minor UI bug though I'll see if we can keep a log of it.
It sounds like you are using the free client Meat9094. The base game is listed as a DLC if you got it. Humble Bundle should include the base game as far as I am aware though. Did you make sure you redeemed all the keys and enabled DLC on Steam Shacka?

Can you post your full specs as well as any save game where this is occurring?
I'm afraid we don't support it in the version of engine Ashes runs on. It was an addition for Star Control: Origins and will be in all future games using our new engine.
We figured out what is happening but are also reviewing what we are doing with wikis. We will be looking into having verified wiki editors. Did you want to just work on Ashes or on any other of our game wikis too?
What screen resolution does your monitor support? Does the game crash at all or just keep hanging? Have you tried loading it in a different user profile?
