Ship designer - use of templates in Galactic Civilizations III GalCiv3 Forums

As an old GC II veteran, I immediately went for the ship designer. Still as fun and useful as ever :) . I made a design, saved it and checked "use as template" - which is what i did in GC2 to get my own designs to show up in future games too. The ship was saved and I couldn't find it again anywhere, I couldn't create ships from that template. Can anyone help me out here? Then I thought, I'll look it up in the manual... but couldn't find a manual either - i see several

Some buildings were useless. The one that allows any ship to explore anomalies comes to mind. Even the AI was smart enough not to build that one It was implemented badly but I did like the idea. You can of course add survey modules to any ship - and it really helps to have a few out there to get the anomalies before the others do - but it costs money and space. The building reduced the cost to zero, but i think it should have reduced the space to 0 (or 1).
