I was never around for the first GUI Olympics so I don't know what the story is...but a new GUI Olympics seems like a great idea! All you need is a panel of set judges who base each submission using the same critique and scale. If there will be too many submissions, you simply break it down into categories like the way you categorize them in the WB Library. I would love to see a new GUI Olympics once WB4 is released. It seems to me skinning is becoming more and more mainstream each and every

I noticed SDC won't recognize my login info? Is there a server issue or something? I remember a post about this problem a while ago, forgot what the fix was...any ideas?

I'm 20, Winamp led me to the original Customize.org...then switched to Skinz.org...then took a break...then came to WinCusto. I can't draw a stick figure, let alone make a skin...but I am network admin for a company, skinning Windows is just a hobby for me. Maybe one day I'll pick up a paint program and try making a skin...

If I were to make a WinStyles suite with a bunch of different skins, and posted it in this way... WB By xxxx IP By xxxx Wall By xxxx etc. Do I still need to get author's permission to post such themes? I am in no way taking credit for anyone's work...but I don't want to waste the moderator's time and piss people off, so ask first, right?

Vizo, I need to share the connection...I need to have access to the Internet. I also need it to be speedy, I will be doing a lot of uploading/downloading from location #2. If you ask why not just get a second connection, it's because location #2 doesn't allow me to have one. It's on a college campus and their connection is slower than dial-up. I need an alternative....so I wanted to share the dedicated T-1 line we have at my job.

Now you understand my problem Kith. I know for sure it's possible, I just don't have the tens of thousands of dollars to buy all the equipment...besides who wants a bunch of Cisco routers in their room? I think I can set up something through a VPN, I just don't know how...

FYI, Intel's P4 3.06Ghz chip beats AMD Athalon XP 2800+ in almost every single benchmark category out there. However, I'm sure most of you have heard about the Athalon64, this is gonna topple Intel, kinda how ATI beat nVidia with their new Radeon 9700. It's a 64-bit chip with backwards-compatability with 32-bit code. Intel will not be able to beat AMD if they release the P5 as a 32-bit chip. Computing has evolved...

After a long argument with the person who told me this, I finally got him to cave in. The way he explained the answer is this... The guys paid $27 in total... and the maid KEPT $2 $27 - the $2 the maid KEPT is $25 which is how much the room cost to begin with!!

Three guys are stranded on the road and decide to head to a hotel. The clerk tells them its $30 dollars for a room, so each guy antes up $10 dollars and they go to their room. The clerk goes 'Oh, I've made a mistake, it was only $25 dollars' and gives the maid the extra $5 dollars to give back to the guys. The maid thinks...well $5 dollars cant be split 3 ways so she takes $2 dollars and gives each guy $1 dollar. So... now each guy paid $9 dollars and the maid has $2

Paxx: Pretty much everything built on from here on out will be based on XP-like functions. Longhorn is XP only it has a new file system and is more .Net-ish. It's not like were going to see something similar to Win2k being released...so support the future first...the past second. But I fully understand the point you make...which is probably why Stardock had a poll, it's a very hard question to answer, a lot of people use pc's, you HAVE to consider them all.

I think for performance issues Stardock should release two versions of the same thing. Make WindowBlinds XP...and later on down the road, Windowblinds 9x. If programs were made specifically for an OS it would speed things up and cause less problems. You can't put XP in the same category as any other OS. I just think XP should be in a class of it's own. It would be easier for the programmers to develop for one particular OS, they wouldn't have to worry about "well it works on XP, now to make

I downloaded and installed SD Central, but for some reason, it recognizes almost NONE of my programs. For instance, I'm using WB 3.90, it says its not installed. I'm using DesktopX 1.90, says it's not installed...as with pretty much every other program on the list. Any idea's why this is happening?

In the magazine CPU (Computer Power User), they did a 2-page spread on Palladium. The way they described it, it didn't sound so harmful, but then again why would a magazine do a 2-page spread on something just to flame it? http://www.computerpoweruser.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles%2Farchive%2Fc0212%2F32c12%2F32c12%2Easp&guid=edssf13o&searchtype=0&WordList=palladium
