Worth reading No further comment necessary - just read: For many years Ben Stein has written a biweekly column for the on-line web site called "Monday Night At Morton's". Now, Ben is terminating the column to move on to other things in his life. Reading his final column to our military is worth a few minutes of your time because it praises the most unselfish among us our military personnel, others who protect us daily and portrays a valuable lesson l

You guys don't get it. He wants you to do it for him. Come on MikeB314, you're a great skinner. How about some eternal gratitude as payment for one of your great skins? If it works, can I have the next skin request please? And, I'll be eternally grateful too. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images

Yeah, my friend, eternal gratitude will not come close, not even if you are Kristen Dunst..hmm well maybe...na... If you don't have time, imagine how much time it takes to make one skin. Then, you want icons, logon screens and two styles? And all for eternal gratitude? I truly hope your idea of eternal gratitude is green and can be used to buy things like food for the time spent making your theme.<br

If the lag goes away, you will know that the conflict of StyleXP and Windowblinds was causing it. You will probably still have orphan registry entries from StyleXP(if you uninstall it), and that may slow down your system a little too. (Note: A lot of orphan registry entries could cause such a problem too. That happens when installing and uninstalling many programs, over time, without cleaning the registry). So, proper system maintenance is important too(Defragging as well). It might be best to w

I would check the configuration setup for StyleXP and set everything back to the original WindowsXP setup. Then, I would unload windowblinds too. Then, uninstall StyleXP. Hopefully, StyleXP will then uninstall itself properly and replace the hacked system file with the original WindowsXP system files. I had a lot of problems with StyleXP, for these very reasons, and I don't use it. Windows isn't perfectly stable itself without an illegal hack of the system. You can try to just unload st

so now i am using style xp now This might be the real problem, right here. StyleXP hacks the system files, and having that program running and then trying to apply another GUI Program is probably whats causing the terrible lag. You might try disabling StyleXP from the system completely, before using a windowblind. This is what we are talking abou

Ladysarajane, that is exactly how I had my system set up to dual boot from the bios. But, now that I have a lot of Ram(1GB), it is impossible to use Win98.(I know Jafo, I'm looking for it) I just haven't found any advantages of using NTFS over Fat32 and a lot of disadvantages. Same with SP2, a lot of disadvantages and no real advantages.

totle, it sounds to me like you have some other problem that has nothing to do with the AlienGUIse theme. Check your msconfig. I believe you may find something there that is lagging your system. It could be anything. I have heard people claim that they had no spyware. But, then they scanned their system and found tons of it. Try different Spyware scanners. Spy Bot didn't find most of my spyware for some reason. Some spyware even has the ability to disable the program. You might try uninstalling

Are you saying that you can boot a Win98 system on a NTFS drive? Not that I would ever use NTFS. I like my utilities and most of them won't work with NTFS. [Message Edited]

If you lose patience Mel, all your hard work is loss. Make sure you back up all your icons. Then, I would contact the Stardock newsgroup for iconpackager. Or you can try contacting Diafragma, he is good with putting together icon packages. Maybe he will help you if you are nice and patient.

and the rest if the skins are to.. If the lag on all your skins started after you applied the Alienware theme, then the Alienware theme is NOT the cause. Otherwise, if you changed to another skin, the lag would go away. It sounds like you got something else in the Limewire download that is chewing up your system resources. Most likely it is a tr
