I never said that you could repair corrupted files by defragmenting a hard drive. Sheesh, come on, please don't put words in my mouth that I never said. But, you can minimize it by maintaining your hard drive through regular system maintenance. When windows loses certain bytes from a file, the file becomes corrupted. How does this happen? Answer: Windows cannot find all the pieces. They are spread out all over your fragmented hard drive. I.E. file becomes corrupted. This is why it is suggested t

Okay, okay, I've heard enough good things about Winamp5 beta. I hate betas, but I'm going to give this thing a try. If it crashes my system though, I'm coming back to yell at you, thehighlander. lol.

It might also be pertinent for Stardock to state whether the update is a true update or a full updated version. A true update will update certain files in the old version, where as, a full updated version should be applied after completely removing the old version to avoid conflicts. Most full updated versions don't completely remove all the old files and registry references, they just overwrite the ones that they use. This is the way of the computer world unfortunately. It is called sloppy. And

Hmm, I don't have that problem with either program. There are many ways to explain it though. One foremost is conflicts. Conflicts with other programs or the same program loading different versions of certain old files being cross referenced. Updating programs can be tricky. Especially, when the program doesn't update or remove older dll's that continue to load. Most dangerous when those files are placed in other directories such as the window directory and, aren't updated or removed when no lon

Hmm, that guy is funny. No internal combustion engines? How would we get to work? Walk twenty to thirty miles a day? I don't think so. Maybe electric engines would be a solution. But, these big money corporate fuel interests would never allow electric engines to replace the internal combustion engine. I mean, be real. Also, get rid of my DVD? NO WAY!!!

Slow downs(fragmented files) leads to crashing(Badly fragmented files creating System and Program Errors). Windows gave up searching because it couldn't find all the pieces. I had a Win98 Aptiva and when my system got over 1.5% fragmented my modem wouldn't load with my ISP.

Okay, I'm not a medical doctor and I never claimed to be. Maybe its having the ovaries removed. I just don't agree with abortion. I agree with a persons right to choice. But, not when it comes to someone elses life. The couples choice ends when they decide to have sex and concieve/produce a baby. After that, there is a third life involved and no one should have the right to end an innocent persons life. After conception, I believe the couples choice ends and it becomes a matter of responsibility

How do you think a file gets corrupted? Because, windows can't find all the pieces. If that happens to explorer.exe, windows won't load. Then you have to try a safe boot, and replace it. This is why there was a diagnostic tool to detect corrupted files. IF the file gets badly fragmented, it becomes corrupted.

Fragmentation will cause a system to crash. When fragmentation gets bad the program won't load. Therefore you get a lock up(I.E. Program Crash). Because, windows can't find all the pieces. If bad fragmentation occurs in system files then you get system errors.(I.E. Blue Screens Of Death). Left over bytes occur all the time when something is fragmented normally it is just a deleted file. But, when windows mistakes those left over pieces that are actually part of a program, this means trouble.

OH WAIT A MINUTE, I GET IT NOW!!!! WAIT A MINUTE. THIS IS SO FUNNY. No one is talking about sterilization of a race. That is silly. Think people think. What does it mean when a man or woman are sterile? It means that they can no longer have babies. I'm talking about tying tubes, or having the Uterus removed. Similar to a male vasectomy. Removing the Uterus may seem a little harsh, but the babies are the ones who really suffer. And, we as society bear the burden. No one is t

China Cat, Who said anything about shooting anyone? Not me. What's wrong with Sterilization of crack mothers who continually give birth to crack babies? Or maybe you have no sympathy for their babies and future babies who have to suffer serious withdrawals for nothing they have done wrong.

Hmm. And maybe you have an idea of the real source of the problem. Since you don't seem to think it's those people who are making the money off the illegal drugs. If it's not the drug dealers, nor the crack mothers, the only thing left are the babies. Do you think its the babies who are at fault? Hmm.

Wombat_1, There was nothing racist in my remarks. Where did you hear a racist statement? Crack Mothers? They can be black or white. Real source of the problem? How about the crack smoking mothers? Or maybe you prefer that we support their habit so that they can give birth to more addicted babies with mental problems."eliminated" and "pregeant crack whore" are not words that I choose to use. I just don't think its right for society to continually have to pay for their drug use. Most of a

Hmm What requires updating? How about the fact that if you choose to have random skins the program crashes your system? The only to get rid of the constant crashing is to take the program out of msconfig and thereby losing the ability to have random skins.
