Icons as Thumbnails on Desktop in Object Desktop Stardock Forums

Hey guys, I've searched both on here and on the web and cant find what I need. Not true. I did find another app that would do this, but I have Object Desktop, I just dont know if it will do it. (It does everything else, I cant imagine it wont.) All I want is my desktop icons to show up as thumbnails so I can see images and vid snapshots without opening. Recently did a complete system restore on my laptop and got Object Desktop back up and running. After reinstalling all my apps and then removing a couple, I ran a reg cleaner to make sure I had no extra tidbits laying around slowing me down. I dont know if that was the problem, but it seems that since then, my WindowBlinds have been messed up. I have noticed no other operational problems. 3 bars at bottom? Maybe I'll try the logoff. As long as the logon screen doesnt come back. As for autohide - when I first installed ODock I had a double tall taskbar. When ODock loaded, the 2x taskbar disappeared, but I had a two tall space at the bottom that app windows didnt use. I never had a problem with the TB coming back with this setting. I have the logon screen disabled as I hate logging on and I dont know how that would affect my setup. Just uploaded mine. My desktop is a mess as I'm trying to figure out what I'm doing with it. Better than before Object Dock. Before I installed Object Dock My main display was literally completely covered with icons/shortcuts/files/folders. I did a lot of cleaning. It's a dual disply setup, 19" 1600x1200 on the left and 17" 1280x1024 on the right. Time to lose the 17 for a 21 or 23" HD Cinema, though. -GageFX

Every so often my Task Bar will come back even though Object Dock has sent it away. Anyone know why? Yeah, I've heard of them, but I dont get involved at all with those groups/companies. You have them, John Roberts Powers and other places that specialize in being a modeling "school" and then there are groups that go around the country and set up big "casting calls" at convention centers and hotels, and it's all really the same thing. ***I really feel though, that they should not be picking people off the street and then eventually tell them the price after all the hoop-la.***

Paxx, What you say is true in theory , but I believe intelligence, or thinking ability, can atrophy with lack of use just like a muscle can. At one time I tested into TOPS (Mensa's for dummies) but would be surprised if I could do so today. (I didnt join.) A couple things that I've read in this thread: Scouts wont pay for anything. They usually work for the agency and will just refer you to them. If the agency wants thinks you will work they will send you on test shoots . They often dont pay for anything as many times they use up and coming photogs (enter moi) to do the shoots. Show desktop is a script and mine is located in the Windows directory. My Object Bars "Show Desktop" button addresses C:\WINDOWS\Show Desktop.scf . Hope that helps. Maybe do a search for that file if yours isnt in the same directory. -GageFX

Object Dock Help in WinCustomize Talk WinCustomize Forums

Hey. I just discovered Object Dock last night so I'm still trying to figure everything out. Some things I'm wondering about: MULTIPLE Object Docks. Is it possible to have one on the bottom of the screen and one on the top. Or on the bottom and running down the right side? System Tray. I have a couple meters that I monitor in the system tray. Anyway to get those back? (Zone Alarm, MemTurbo, etc.) Or maybe add them, to an Object dock - If multiple are possible.
