Wishing everyone the best for the Holidays....from a safe, cozy, family get-together for Christmas to a wild, raucous, drunken flesh-fest for New Year's Eve <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/events.gif" bo

Okay so I've been browsing thru the Message Boards to see if anyone in the past has had problems akin to mine and someone offered some help with it and I found this post https://www.wincustomize.com/msgboard.asp?BID=WCH&id=211803 It concerns problems with downloading themes through Theme Manager...didn't try Theme Manager until now and it don't work either. Also I sent an e-mail to Stardock support asking for help....no answer. Not as in they don't have a clue as in they ju

I must have some setting messed up. In Stardock Central, everything works except all downloads of skins fail whether I click "download" or "apply". Downloads/Updates under Software tab work. Documentation Tab works. News Tab works. Discussion Tab works, Chat works, librarys get updated. I don't understand how so much can work except one part of the program.

Superman.... yeah I want to be Superman, just like that George Reeves from the TV show's in the 50's. No wait, maybe not, cause he got shot in the head. Okay, okay....Christopher Reeve, that's the Superman I want to be. The one from the movies in the 80's. No wait, maybe not, cause he fell off a horse and broke his neck. Think, think think....I know Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, yeah he gets spooked a little, but he's got a cool talking dog, he's always eating, tools around in a cool make-out van and

Just a thought....don't know if it is feasible or not. I think I remember another site doing this to cut down on bandwidth usage. They had dedicated servers for subscribers and site contributors only. Others could still become part of the community and download stuff for free, but bandwidth for that part of the community was throttled-down and capped to keep overall costs down for the site and create another incentive for buying a subscription. Just another thought....have Stardock offe

I've also tried using Stardock Central. Library updates work in both and Program updates download and install with Stardock Central. If I right-click/copy url from either WinCustomizer Browser or Stardock Central and paste it in Internet Explorer the file will download.

Files that I am able to download directly from WinCustomize, won't download within the Wincustomizer Browser. I've tried with my firewall disabled, with Earthlink Accelerator disabled and with both disabled. I don't have to disable anything when I download directly from the site.

I don't know if I like that policy once installed...never uninstall, but what your saying does make sense about a newer version of IconPackager thinking the system defaults were the last version's theme setting. Too bad the software doesnt' "right things" in the registry during an uninstall. I restored my c:\ partition from a backup (only took 10 minutes) and will not use IconPackager again, but will go back to using MicroAngelo, never had a problem using it. I just liked the concept of applying

.bat is a MS-DOS batch file used to combined DOS commands to be run at a command prompt or in a DOS box, such as autoexec.bat. In windows it uses the C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,71 icon by default. The batch program you mentioned "_DEFAULT.BAT" does not exist on my system. An example on my system would be the MS-DOS version of Grand Theft Auto. The BAT file "GTA.BAT" runs the following commands: @echo off cd gtados gta24.exe The DOS application file GTA24.EXE which

.exe and .com are also MS-DOS application extensions. Normally, Windows uses the C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,2 icon to represent them, since MS-DOS applications don't normally have "their own" icon like most windows applications. On my system, the icon for .com is correct. the icon for .exe that is being shown is C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,0.

Nothing....somehow C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,0 icon has become the default icon. Also if I go into IconPackager it shows the correct icon. In IconPackager, if I try to change it to anything, it has no effect on it either. I can change the icon on each individual icon by right clicking on it, but 'Restore Default' always goes back to C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,0 icon instead of C:\WINDOWS\System32\shell32.dll,2 icon.

Here's a copy of my post from the MicrosoftXP NewsGroup. Since I suspect that Icon Packager has a hand in this, I hope that maybe someone here can give me some guidance. I'm willing to try just about anything, since I backed up my C:\ partition prior to installing ODNT (Just because ya never know...). I just don't want to have to start over and re-install ODNT again for what is only a minor, but annoying problem. Thanks all... Here's what I know so far: I wrote earlier tod
