It's obvious Oil will get no sympathy from any of us. Suffice to say, pay for the shareware program or stop using it. As someone else mentioned, StyleXP is not freeware either. In addition, if you took the time to truly try WindowBlinds 4.x, you might find it useful...especially without the nags screens.

Unbelievable, truly -- an end user complaining about utilizing unregistered software that is nagging him/her to register. Meanwhile, having the audacity to say that this behavior may cost clients (i.e., money). What are you - twelve? Oh yeah, and popup blockers work for popups that webmasters have coded into their webpages (i.e., popup blockers block windows in web browsers), not popups from other types of programs. Heh, tonight I'm not feelin' real patient with, or sympathetic
I believe that Component Manager is being phased out; Stardock will no longer be supporting it in the near future. May I suggest that you take a look at (and download) SD Central http://www.sdcentral.net. This application gives you the same application upgrade functionality that Component Manager does; however, it offers one huge advantage: it only updates the components of the application that you need rather than downloading an entire installation file.
Oh, Hippie, you may want to update sdcentral to the newest version. If you already have it, try uninstalling and reinstalling. I had trouble with one of the SDC betas as well.
I think it's a great concept, sort of. There have been many programs released and downloadable on sites like tucows and nonags, but this program does take hotkeys a few steps further. It allows you to control a lot more of the user interface than simply launching certain programs. However, it has one inherent drawback: the more you customize it, the more you as the user have to remember. So if you don't use a certain hotkey combo for a few days, are you going to remember it? What about when you
Not everyone wants or needs a credit card, correct? So banks came up with the debit card. This gives a person with bad credit (or one who doesn't want credit) the opportunity to make quick and easy payments without having to write a check. In this day and age, it also gives those same people the ability to shop online. As long as your debit card has a Visa or MasterCard logo, it can be used online and face-to-face all over the world. I've used mine in America, Canada, Europe and Asia. A
Well put, shmoopsters. Very helpful to the newbie. And a thoughtful nudge to those who behave as though they don't know any better. I second your "ahem" - respectfully, of course.
I have to agree that you cannot compare skins to programs. As I read this thread, my thought process was the same as feline's in #66. Then I ran across Frogboy's in #52. Although I wholeheartedly disagree with his comparison, it just goes to show that everyone has a different perspective on the issue. My perspective is one of a programmer. I don't think 3-5 suites are worth the cost of the years of development that has gone into what ODNT is today. But is that a fair compariso
Great game. Loads of frustration, er, fun.
Initially your idea sounded on point, COOOOOOLLLLL. I imagined it being a plugin to Stardock Central as a separate "Launch IM" option. It could work similar to IRC in that you would see a list of users who are logged into SC and privately IM one of them or start a chatroom and invite people to it... However, after further consideration, I believe that WC has skinners covered between IRC and the messageboard (incl the suggestion for the "new" board). If a skinner would like feedback on a
I apparently do not rate.
I favor the colour of the Titlebar as it is. If you were to change anything (for the sake of font to background contrast), you could make the font text a bit darker, if it's possible to do so. I'm afraid that if you lightened the buttons (as you mentioned in #13) too much, you may lose the shadow effect. Fantastic skin, grayhaze.
Failing to renew your subscription to ODNT (Object Desktop) will NOT cause your software the stop working. It merely allows you to download program updates and entitles you to technical support for the next 12 months.
Phantom postings...nice.
Love the spell checker icon, J. Beautiful.
Try uninstalling WB. Copy your Themes directory to another location before you do just to be safe. Reinstall WB and copy your themes directory back. Are you using either WB 3.51 or 4.0?

I would guess that it's because StyleXP is a competing product to WindowBlinds. LiteStep is a shell - one that has been around for many years. It is an alternative to the Explorer shell. You can use WindowBlinds and LiteStep together.
I would think that WindowBlinds is looking for explorer.exe and skinning the Taskbar portion of the program with the hooks built into Windows. If you've renamed explorer.exe and are using a hexed version of it, you may be out of luck as far as WindowBlinds and its ability to skin it properly. You may want to email Stardock directly on this one.
I've edited your SS and replied via email. I do not have a personal website on which to post it.
True - another hijacking of a thread. We have moved from "uh oh" to cocoa.
Pardon my ignorance if I'm incorrect, but isn't the taskbar part of the Explorer shell? When you run Litestep and other shells, you do not get the explorer taskbar. Which shell are you running?
Sounds like you have one of the squirrels from the Geico commercials in your backyard.
Hello, *Shmoopy*. This is a very usable skin. I find the Title Bar buttons very intuitive. Even the checkboxes look great; the check itself has a nice "fat" look. What attention to detail! Most actions have sound effects (see below for the lone action that does not). Even the bracket-like image on each end of the Title Bar is "flipped" when the window becomes inactive. Terrific! Thank you for the hide or minimize to tray option on the upper-left of the Title Bar. I would like t
At this point I am wondering if perhaps Zodiac~ and Dark Mist know each other in the "real world". I don't know the ages of these two individuals, but the way Zodiac~ is keeping on is almost as though he has some grudge with Dark Mist outside of WC and because of this believes so intensely that DM would rip from him. Then again I could be wrong. Pay me no mind.
