Seems like either a release date slipped or Stardock wasn't considering those of us who would have the initial elation, after seeing the [U]posting[/U], only to be disappointed that the animation won't work with our version of WB.
I first installed it from the Subscribers section (individual apps' files in a zip)...no dice on the ani start menu. I also d/l via Impulse...still no bones about it. I'm on XP, using WB v6.3...all apps are updated to their latest, according to Impulse. And I, too, am getting the ocx error on the weather gadget. If I try to update MyColors, I get the following error: "There was an error checking for updates, please try again". Not trying to get support, cuz this isn't the place to post

Their own ideas (such as WindowsCE) have not always been good ones. Stardock is where they are because they are truly innovative and because they listen to their user base.

I'd like to have a commitment of sorts, an expectation as it were, so that I can make an informed decision on whether to uninstall WB6 and use the MyColors theme that I've paid for or just use one of the many free themes I've got until the MyColors enhancements are available.

It's good to know that a fix is in the works. But there must be a way for me to get the theme file and use all of the components of the theme without installing MyColors. Perhaps you didn't understand the last sentence in my post. If you had you would most certainly know that this is more than an "inconvenience." If what you're saying is a "known issue", customers should be able to trust that Stardock would place a warning in plain sight (and before the checkout process) that states MyColors themes will not work as expected if you have WB installed. One should not have to choose between the two AFTER both have already been purchased. I expect a more acceptabl
As a software systems architect, I am a bit taken aback by Neil's responses. I certainly hope that he doesn't speak for all of Stardock. A user requesting that an application configuration screen "fit" on 800 x 600 resolution is not outlandish or even unreasonable. I think the UI for WB is unique, but perhaps it's too "busy". Perhaps a smaller configuration UI with more tabs would be a more user-friendly experience. I can't say how many folks still use 800 x 600, but with all of the Section
I used to see this issue with WB5 and now with WB6 it's worse. I have WB 6.01 (build 40) installed. I recently purchased a multitude of MyColors themes. The one I was trying to install is Corvette. 1) Once installed and activated, it doesn't show in Theme Manager. Why? Because it placed the theme file in the "old" location and not under Shared Documents, where TM looks now. So, okay, I moved it then re-ran TM. I don't think that separating your widgets from your product webpage is a "rip". It's an idea that is currently in use by other companies such as Stardock: e.g. Wincustomize. It's an idea that makes sense in that the "skins" are created by more than just the developers of Kapsules, so why have all of these skins on the product's web site? Thanks, Tarkus. I'll give that a go. Just to clarify, since uninstalling and installing IP, I am no longer having a problem with IP hanging on the splash after installing a package. It does go away after all icons are changed. Incidentally, before the 3.0 betas (2.x's), I didn't have the splash screen option checked. I think it was "forced" during one of the upgrades.
Although I don't have Blue Curve installed, I was having issues after upgrading IP to v2.9x. Each time I would try to apply a package, the "Please Wait" splash would come up and then not go away. I was able to pull up the Task Manager and kill iconpackager.exe. It seemed that all of the icons were applied okay, but the program would sit at 50% CPU utilization and not die. The problems only worsened after upgrading to 3.09b[002]. Clicking on

All: There doesn't appear to be a need for the registration code. pattigale: The 26 Meg executable is simply a DX Script (or the like) and doesn't have to be unintalled. If you context-click anywhere on the control object, you just deselect the Autorun option. Context-click again to "Close". Corky_O: Might be a display driver problem. Yes, Frogboy, let's keep things in perspective: ODNT is 50 bucks. Is this skin worth nearly 20 percent of all of the development effort that has gone into ODNT? It doesn't even have all of the features of WindowBlinds utilized (e.g., progress anims & toolbars). Based on the recent development standards, it's not a "complete" WindowBlinds skin. No, ObjectDock is "included." It's obvious by the weather widget that it's OD. However, the GUI for changing "GUIs" is not WindowBlinds. I find it interesting that this a'hole is charging for each GUI as an "upgrade" to his product. So, to answer the original question, uh, no, don't buy it!!
