They have limited resources, and I think they rotate their devs between the games??? SO thier games seem to get love in cycles... at least that is what it feels like. I have no doubt Ashes will have its day again soon.
If that truly is the case they would do well to communicate this.

The 144 Hz represent the top refresh rate the monitor supports not the fps you need when playing games on it. Having a monitor that supports 144 Hz is like saying you have wheels on your car than can go up to 300 km/h. Do you need to have a car that can drive that fast to use them? No. So basically a 144 Hz monitor gives you the ability to have 144 fps and brings frames faster to the screen once rendered but doesn't require more horsepower. The 1440 is going to requ

Right so after letting Ashes sit on the shelf for quite a while I recently picked it back up (I'm a founder anyway so I get it all :D) with Escalations and took a look at the current state of it. Here are my 2 cents from my highly biased own point of view. The strategic zoom is a wonderful feature and I'm glad you backed down on the resistance to it. I remember in the early days that this was a big discussion which always ended with "Ashes is not that kind of game" etc. Its ad

Alright so this is a weird bug. What happened was that I created an army on a cruiser using the build menu without forming an army before. Thus far everything is fine. I then right clicked on that cruiser with a couple of other units thus forming an army and this is where things get weird. I could no longer select the army normally. It would select the army but would display something else as being selected such as the central building or a power core. This in itself is weird but what

Ouch. After reading this thread I actually noticed that the scale of the game is completely off. I thought the mountains were supposed to be hills and I never saw any trees. Turns out the trees are the small shrubs on the ground. I honestly thought that the current maps were just rather flat instead of thinking about that the scale might be off. Now after looking at it again I have to concur with the other people in this thread in saying: Please fix the scale. For the
Congested wifi spaces are completely an ongoing problem. And public DNS has been a demonstrable response time upgrade over the years for many ISP customers. I'm glad you're not perceiving these potential issues as problems for you.
I guess it depends on where you live whether congested wifi is a problem. Public DNS might be a response time upgrade for websites or things that require hostname resolutio
It's easy to test if you have an ethernet cable and/or can move your PC temporarily closer for testing. I also strongly suggest everyone use a public DNS host instead of your ISP's if you aren't already. http://www.online-tech-tips.com/cool-websites/free-dns-server/
Wifi is currently at a stage where it shouldn't be a source of problems anymore but for me it
Not the AI. The net code is still being optimized. That that, mp does require broad band. Half a megabit isn't even close. for now, I'd recommend you stick to 4 or less players.
We had 2-3 Players. What exactly do you mean by broadband? I would assume that 16Mbit Downstream and 1Mbit Upstream which is kind of the norm in Germany (even though fiber and cable access is starti

I've just tried my first Multiplayer Ashes game with a friend. The results were horrible. Setup: Map: Setons Players: 3 - Me + Friend + Challenging AI Results: As already mentioned by someone else in the Multiplayer thread the game works fine for a couple of minutes then starts to lag with the message that the other player is slowing down the game. This happens regardless who hosts. Un
Why are we Talking about FAF? i am sorry but who cares? AOTS will have its own player base and i hope it will have a good big one, at least 1.5k and if the Dev's are talking about keeping the game updated for years with new expansions and DLC's. So it will be even be bigger. Going back to the Multiplayer Topic. Every-time i get in a MP game it works fine for me only the first 2-3 minutes and then the co
Regardless of what the website says, I am pretty skeptical of the 900 players online in FAF. That said, I am just looking at what other gaems on Steam has. Sins does around 1,500 and it sold far better than SupCom did. And really, according to the FAF page, they get 2,800 players PER DAY. So not sure how ou can get 300 people being online unless a lot of people are leaving the lobby up 24/7.

Once released, that number should climb to around 1,500 or with say 300 or so online.
Is that the real estimate? That seems to be a bit on the low end actually. Even FAF has a player base that has between 300-900 online players. I would have expected that Ashes tries to supersede that. Or is it really that bad in the RTS market these days / FAF is special because of the loyal playerbase? </

I would like to start a discussion about the current state of ashes as I think this is a good point for us players to reevalute where the game stands, which expectations we had that were fulfilled and which we think should still be changed. I'm actually a founder even though the forum doesn't think I am so I've been watching for quite some time and some things have changed for the better and some haven't changed at all. I actually come from a SupCom background

Ashes is starting to look good but there are some points that I don't like the direction the game is going into. I'm aware that the game is still at a rather early stage but since this is the last alpha I think some things seem to be rather fixed. so without further ado my feedback on the current state of the game, I'm going to make a lot of comparisons to SupCom FA as that is the game that I want Ashes to supersede and enhance upon: - The graphics are wond

I just became a founder and took a first look at the game. I do like the general direction this is going. Regarding the topic of resources I have the following to say: I do not like the concept of indestructible resource extractors and taking territories at all. I would very much like that to be an option that can be disabled so that we can build those buildings ourselves and have them destroyed. I really enjoyed it in supreme commander that you could do
