I have had that, but only when I have applied a skin and Firefox is running. If I restart it everything is fine.

You could provide your own Firefox theme for people to download. Worse with other programs though.
Don't get discouraged. I'd love it if people were as critical of my work. Sometimes it is easy to read too much into the tone of a comment, and overlook the content. Agreed. I find critics good, as long it's reasoned for. I'd say reasoned critic is better than positive comments. In any case it's better
So let's make it a 50 x 50 pixel .gif with a max size of 10-15 k. A lot can be done with only 10k Say 15, then it will be the same as deviantart and I can use that one without further editing.
Photoshop is fine. Just wondered. Makes it easier to explain how to do things when you know what tools you are using.
I would have to try it out first, but I can suggest a couple of things from the screenshot. 1. You have quite a few rounded corners, but they are a bit jagged. What software do you use to create the graphics? See if you can enable anti-aliasing when you draw the shapes. 2. Even so lightly less intense red for the window borders? Not much, 10-20% darkness to it perhaps... Note, this is just suggestions based on my personal taste. Use or
I agree that Bob and the other desktop companions aren't perticulary useful. But I still think the ideafor the attempt is a good one. Trying to make computers more personal so it won't alienate new users. I won't argue with the outcome though.
A bit of a pitty really. computers should work for you , not the other way around. And such a feature shold be no problem with the incredible cheap cost for storage these days. thomassen hopes for fix in Longhorn.
I think it is getting a little bloated as of the v3.0 Agree there, but I feel it improved from version 2.
I removed my honorific. I had to use one in the beginning due to a bug that duplicated my posts. I think I'd like the honorific "Entity" ...
Wasn't that possible in version 2 as well? Using the "GetObject"...?
As far as I know .gif and maybe .png are the only formats that support animation. Only gifs support animation and they are limited to maximum 256 colours. .gif's might increas
I have installed Avalon, using WB, and have no clue how to use Avalon. Avalon isn't much use for people yet unless you are a developer that wants to try out making programs in Avalon. As a pure client user you would have to find other people who allready have made test programs. It is a presentation lay
Congratiulation!
I can see it useful, at least for me personally. I am borderline dyslectic (that's what they told me) and my brain work better visually. The way the icons are done in tileview from the screenshot at winsupersite, I would identify a document much quicker than by looking in listview. The thumbnail in that screenshot indicated the number documents and you can see roughly how the first page looks like. To me that work alot better than a list with identical
The little usericon in the top if the startmenu? WindowBlinds - User Overrider - tick "Show usericon in startpanel (if not domain)"
As the title said. I'm very curious to this. I have heard there are examples in the widgets, but I haven't been able to find it.
...what...? You can't just leave like that... It's like ripping out the last page of a book.
Have you checked that you don't have any spyware/adware? Not sure about the printing and mouse issues. Don't see how DX could have caused that. However, I have noticed reports that scripting has failed sometimes. Reinstalling Windows Script seemed to help. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C717D943-7E4B-4622-86EB-95A22B832CAA&displaylang=en
This has to be one of the worst UI ideas MS has come up with yet. Have you actually seen it in action? Seem like a quick assumption to me. Remember that Longhorn is designed with new technology in mind. Such as high-resolution monitors.
The beta Avalon is mainly for developers at the moment so they can try out the technology. You wouldn't get anything out of it as a client user.
When I read your post I looked at your stat, it seemed fine. I then went and checked my stat to check if that one showed any abnormalities. Which it did, everything was zero and apparently I joined 1. Jan. 1970. ... At the same time I was doing this I was browsing other parts of the site. Shortly after looking at my stat I got Runtime error from the site. Not sure if it
There isn't any Italian translation made yet.
I assume you would be able to turn it off, since you can choose various ways of how the GUI will be, Windows Classic, Visual Styles or Aero. But remember that things will be more vectorized in Longhorn. I saw a video where they demostrated sizing of the icon view. It was then normal icons beeing sized in similar manner as ObjectDock size icons, but the narrator in the video said in the final release it would be vectorized.
In news.com's article An early peek at Longhorn , there was an interesting bit of information: But while the OS bears plenty of similarities to Tiger, Allchin stressed that Microsoft has broken new ground in Longhorn. For example,
