Yea. The last couple of years I've installed Ubuntu on a few old machines and the results varied. Though my last install yesterday of Ubuntu 7.04 went quite allright. And the "Desktop Effects"... sweet! I want that Workspace switcher for my Windows box!

Just reformatted my old comp with XP, Vista and Ubuntu 7.04 I have to say this version of Ubuntu looks very slick. The Desktop Effects are cool. Installation was much more friendly than before.

I'd like to add to that suggestion. That the next link are possible to open in new tabs. When I browse gallery sites I tend to open the next page in a new tab so it loads while I look at the current page. That isn't possible in the WC galleries.

ObjectDock+ is a must for my computers. Tabbed docks are much better than the startmenu.

For example, have you tried clicking "Change startup programs" in Control Panel? It doesn't actually let you do it! When I installed Vista, on both my system, I didn't activate it until I had made sure the installation worked. So I go to the control panel and click on the activate link... it does nothing! nix! nada! nill! bugger all! So I have to wait until the remonder pops up the the system notification area.

The XP solution did actually work. Turns out that some app had disabled it again. grrr! (Seriously, who do they do this?!) I think I'll set up a .reg file to make sure this setting is maintained.

It's very easy to use. Drag files into the dock and that's it. To add docklet which got more functions, right click and choose Add Entry. The built in docklet don't cause any problems. Third party ones might.

I was able to get weather for London. I also found that it was impossible to get weather for Stockholm because it got three different version. Which you can't define which one to use via OD.
