Vista Virtual Desktop Manager in Vista Customization WinCustomize Forums

I came across this neat Virtual Desktop Manager for Vista today. Got a really simple interface with some nice subtle effects powered by the DWM. Also, the sourcecodes are available if you are interested. I'm currently running WindowBlinds and ObjectDock and none of them seem to conflict with the manager like some managers do. Check it out!

For UK cities you have to type "United Kingdom" as the language. It's very particular about the format. For instance: London, United Kingdom (works) London, UK (don't work) London, England (don't work) However, I was trying to help someone on IRC that wanted to add Stockholm, Sweden. http://www.desktopx.info/ sounds good to me. Don't have to put much money into the intial site. Probably best to see how it goes. But a place with nice upgrade abilities. I'd be glad to help out paying for this site. I don't think it should be flooded by traffic since it's specialist site for content creators.

If we get a PHP and MySQL backend I can code the site. I allready have a few different frameworks from my own website I can adapt. As you said, bandwidth and cost is an issue, so I'm thinking a very simplisitc design. Kindof like these Web2.0 sites. Ah, good point.....how do I do that? Specifically, how do I find the file and call it from wherever it is? This is what I did for my Script Manual: A default settings file is packaged with the widget which makes it availible at runtime to the gadget from the CurrentTheme folder of the widget. If there is no setting file in the same folder as the widget exe it will copy the default setting file from the CurrentTheme folder.

I wonder if it would be possible to pull code snippits from a wiki type page? or maybe i could make a web page on my CommercialGadets site where people could upload new code samples, etc. That would take some web design work, but it would also be pretty cool ah! again I dont fully read all the comments before O post. I see we're thinking something of the same here.

I think the listitems are to big. will require too much scrolling. How about a button that will sync the list with an online repository maintained by the community? I plan such a function with my Script Manual. You can see it allready beeing layed out in that you can edit the references.xml file in the programs directory.

Ah. I see that the question on how to include external script files was answered. Didn't notice it when I scimmed through the page before I replied. I do like the idea that it can read all my functions into the object, but i think using the method i talked about before where you have a single object with all your functions in it, and then call them from that object. When you run the object.SetScript("script") it stops all further script processing in the object, and the only script to run in from the "Script" file.
