Just to add the spects I got: Secondary system: Dell Dimmension 8300 2.8GHz HT, 1GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9800 (Bought in Oct 2003 so it's 'old' on computer years) Didn't have any problems with Vista. Seemed to me to start up quicker than XP. Searching wasn't as instant as you'd expect, but I think that was because I had IDE drives. Primary system: Self built. Primary and secondary machine got Vista. secondary still got my XP partition in dualboot just in case I would need some legacy apps or games to work. But I haven't even used that for a several months. My laptop still got XP, but that's because I don't use it that much. Only a convenience for when I travel of go to interviews.

I think most translations are done my third party people from the community. Trouble with that is if they only have done a word for word direct translation instead of looking up standard was of naming and describing computer terms in their own language. When I made Norwegian translation I found some really good guidelines from OpenSource websites. If you find the translation bad you can try to do your own and send it to SD. It's just a simple .ini file where everything is in plain text.

Nope. DesktopX Pro is just for DesktopX Pro. ObjectDesktop is a separate program suite which includes the standard version of DX. If you want them both you need to buy them both. Worth it though. I got that.

How about a labeling system? So a skin doesn't have to be in one single catagory, but rather be marked with labels or tags? Then you can just pick the label or labels you want to browse?

3DSMAx is a very expensive commercial package. You can get a cheaper student package, but you'll never get it for free unless you manage to find one of the older version distributed with magazines occasionally. If you want a free 3D software, try Blender. It's open source and is getting pretty good critique. You'll have all you need there to create icons. But mind you, 3D software takes time to learn. So be prepared to invest time and effort.
And to install Adobe Reader 8 I had to do a workaround because it doesn't handles it well if you got the UAC disabled.
I've experienced a few glitches with the CS2 series. Mostly just minor UI glitches, but I have experienced that occasionally with PS CS2 that the mouse stop respoinding within the MDI child windows of PS.
Tabbed dock: - Even though I keep the dock with normal z-ordering and 'on-top' is unchecked, the dock will periodically stay on-top of other windows. Clickin on the desired/focused window does NOT bring the window to the top -- that is, the dock still claims top z-order. The only way to push it back down is to manually check 'on-top' and then uncheck it again. I experience that my self. I think it might be a Windows bug actually if I remember correct

I just got a new computer and could finally make use of MP. In my house we got a wireless internett connection which everybody share. In order to ensure good performance and transferrate between the computers I got connected through MP I used a spare router I had to connect them through wire. I noticed some flickering sometimes happend when the cursor hover over the close button on windows. Didn't see any of that with my old machine with ATI Radeon 9800.
Please continue to check with your notebook manufacturer for a new driver for GeForce Go GPUs. GeForce FX users should continue to use the v96.85 driver. thomassen shakes angry fist at Packard for not providing any updates for his GeForce Go card! But I suppose that's good for my new computer I just got running now. It's a XFX GeForce 6800 GT.
