Has anyone esle experienced this? I am running Vista and have WindowBlinds installed but turned off (Using Aero) Acrobat reader 8.0 open fine, but when I right click on the OD zoomer icon Acrobat Reader crashes (Windows Dialog Application Stopped Responding). OD seems to still function correctly. I know it seems like an Acrobat Reader issue, but if I turn off OD and use the Windows task bar, the right click context menu (Close, Minimize, Restore,etc...) works just fine. <

For those who haven't given Directory Opus 9 a try, do it. Do it right now. The Vista support and USB option is fantastic. If there's something you don't like about DO9, chances are you can change it to fit your needs or preferences. It is very customizable. I will warn you though. There is a bit of a learning curve to really make use of all of it's features. Although, with the new version, the developers have done a great job with improving their user guide and it also has a swee

** Always on Top Issue ** I tried unloading WindowBlinds and rerunning the IE7 tests, and I'm getting the almost the same results. But without running WindowBlinds the results are now not %100 consistent. Without running WindowBlinds: If I use F11 to go back and forth from Full Screen in IE7, (I paused about 10 seconds between switches just in case it was some type of timing thing) sometimes the docks behave correctly and sometimes the don't. Maybe 50% of the time it work

Excellent updates! Thanks for the quick replies. ** Always on Top ** issues Installed the latest OD beta 1.58a[b].009 This is on Windows XP SP2 (all current updates) Very clean system (nothing else funky running except Avast Antivirus) Using WindowBlinds 5.5.023 (I haven't seen any of issues where it's staying on top of or under just the WindowBlinds Skin

Thanks for the quick reply. Oops, I'm sorry about not including the specifics... Ok, I've installed the latest OD beta 1.58a[b].009 This is on Windows XP SP2 (all current updates) Very clean system (nothing else funky running except Avast Antivirus) Yes I am using WindowBlinds 5.5.023 (I haven't seen any of issues where it's staying on top of or under just

I have been testing the beta and the "Always On Top" feature. It is much better at staying on top for normal applications, which seems to solve the problems I was having in the previous versions. However, there are a few full screen apps where the docks continue to stay on top when they should be hidden/bottom. The apps I've tested are, Internet Explorer(i.e. F11 for Full Screen) Faststone Image Viewer 3.0 and Firehand Ember. In the previous OD version, it acted correctly and the doc

The update to v1.00.001 reset all my settings back to the defaults. Great program but it gets old having to reset everything after eash update... I was Hoping this would be fixed in the 1.x release.

I've been waiting for OD to support putting the docks in the desktop reserved area for awhile now, so I was happy to see it in the latest build! I use a reduced desktop area ( I have a reserved space on all sides of the desktop ) to display shortcuts, stats, meters, etc... When I select to have one of the tabbed docks reserve the edge of screen, it does reserve the correct side

Same issue here... I can't recreate it at will, but I notice it frequently when I'm working in Visual Studio 2003/2005. Seems like running apps in Debug mode frequently triggers the problem. Great update by the way....

Brad, Thanks for sharing your story. I just went to the optometrist today and was discussing this very procedure with him. I have several friends who went through it and are seeing 20/15 in both eyes. I want to do it, but I can't get over the thought of what's happening to your eyes. I had glasses and contacts for over 20 years and I still struggle to put contacts in my eyes since they are so sensitive. When I was a kid, our famil

Wow, I feel kind of stupid for asking this, but I'm a WinCustomize subscriber and I can't figure where to go or how to setup my page..... I looked in the subscriber areas but I didn't see anything obvious. Can someone give a little help finding it???? Thanks....

I have ObjectDesktop and I just bought ObjectDock. It's sweet... Great Job! There are a few quirks, but I fully understand it's still beta. I checked out the ObjectDock forum last night and I have to say I was impressed with the quick and professional responses by the Dock members/team. That says a lot about the sincerity of the team for putting out a quality product. Keep up the great work!

I don't work for free and I suspect that most of you don't work for free either. (some probably don't work at all...) Code development, especially good code development, takes time and money. Why are you expecting something for free? Stardock has never promised or even implied that ObjectDock would be part of ObjectDesktop. That being said, Brad has made a nice gesture of giving ObjectDesktop subscribers a discount and seems interested in considering other types of product bundling/s

Sweeeeeeeeeett Suggestion: On the grouping, I'd like to be able to have the taskbar items grouped together, but not collapsed down to one item with a menu. So, if I had six Internet Explorer windows open, I'd still have six Internet Explorer items, but they would all be next to each other and not spread out over the dock items. You probably already thought of this, but I thought I'd

My laptop has been eating right through the IBM "deathstar" laptop drives. I lost quite a bit of data last week to drive crash. I think there is a real problem with these drives. Although, the company that services my laptop has replaced each one as full coverage each time. Crappy drives, but so far, I've had great service. Good luck with it...

One of the issues that I see as holding DesktopX back is that the code logic is too tightly coupled to the graphics. Granted, it is fairly easy to edit/copy the scripts and build a new object/widget with the copied scripts and new graphics, but the average user doesn’t have the skills or the inclination to do this. Stardock could provide some rock solid instances of the more popular object types (weather, calendar, side bar, e-mail, etc...)

A movie theater opened up near my house that doesn't show those damn TV commercials before the movies (but still has movie previews). I love it... I've been waiting for some theater to realize that not showing those commercials could be a great way to get more business than the other theaters in the same area. (FYI -The ticket prices and food prices are the same as the ad nauseam theaters) This is now the only theater I will go to. Why pay

Switching to a flat tax would eliminate the most powerful force of social manipulation the government has to use. Each party can use the tax code to drive certain types of behavior. Want a behavior? Reduce the tax burden for that behavior. For instance to encourage saving and investing in real property (social stability being the goal) there is a mortgage interest deduction. Don’t want a behavior? Tax the heck out of it... That’s all the tax cod

I'm really impressed with all the features you have added to WB. Skinning as many parts of Windows as WB does makes the experience more seamless and complete. However, I have been disappointed that now the console skinning as not working correctly. (Actually, as I'm sure you are aware, it does skin properly, but if you try to resize it, it shrinks very rapidly and you can't resize it normally.) I'm assuming that skinning the console is a real bear.... I'll look forward to having that issue

Thanks for the explanation on the lawsuit. I agree with your analysis on the file formats. Unfortunately, it leads to high levels of encryption and proprietary formats, but I think that's a better solution than letting other steal your intellectual property. I guess I'm an idealist and want to see those who take risks and work hard at producing great products/services to reap the benefits and have reasonable protection for their intellectual

I can't imagine the audacity of someone who is trying very blatantly to steal your intellectual property. I don’t quite understand how you can be sued when you haven’t done anything that broke the law or caused this competitor any damage. Wouldn’t they have to show reasonable damages to base a case on? I’m sure you have great legal representation and maybe even have the ability to counter sue, if you think that’s an option.

Icon Packager has really made it easy to change the look and feel of windows as much as Window Blinds has. It looks awful having a great looking WB with the standard icons. I generally don't use a WB unless it has matching icons. Very cool program... I too am wondering like Hitchhiker427 about the "File Open" or similar dialogs. The standard icons are still showing up. It must be getting these icons from an embedded resource from Explorer.exe or some DLL. Is there an easy way to r

Interesting view. I think that outsourcing will make things more competitive, but that's a good thing. While computers are getting easier to use I their uses are getting much more complex. Sure, most people know how to use e-mail, but how are they managing all that data? What will happen when people start e-mailing self contained applications? I look at the possibilities that the Longhorn builds offer and my mind starts spinning at
