So let me put this to you. How do you know that Darwin wasn't simply writing God's words when he wrote the theory of Evolution? Maybe God wanted us to know the true origins of our species because he was tired of getting all the credit. Except his plan backfired and the Christians all denounced Darwin's theory as madness.
#353 by Kona0197 - 9/17/2003 4:42:16 PM The theory isn't proof, but the documented evidence is.That documented evidence was written by man. How is it concrete? It is NOT and never will be. You said yourself that the bible was written by man. You're talking yourself into a smaller and smaller corner here Kona. <img src="http://images.stardock.co
#349 by Kona0197 - 9/17/2003 4:38:23 PM The evoulotion theroy was written by someone. How is that proof? The theory isn't proof, but the documented evidence is. It's one thing to state something as fact, but another thing entirely to back it up with evidence.
In what way is the bible proof of the existence of God that Harry Potter books aren't proof of the existence of magic and wizards?
#342 by Kona0197 - 9/17/2003 4:30:36 PM Someday you'll see the light. It does not matter what higher power you believe in, but the fact remains there is a God. There you go using that 'fact' word again. For something to be a fact it has to be provable. Show me the proof and I'll gladly look at whatever this light is I'm supposed to be seeing.<b
#336 by Kona0197 - 9/17/2003 4:16:35 PM Actually I have all sorts of wisdom to share. Re-read your post #328 Kona, but carefully. Pay attention to grammar and double-negatives and you'll understand my comment...
#333 by BakerStreet - 9/17/2003 4:10:04 PM From what I can tell, Religion is an instinct as old as we are as a species. Religion isn't an instinct, it's a construct. Religion was created by man, regardless of the influences they were under.
#328 by Kona0197 - 9/17/2003 3:30:33 PM It is funny that someone could actually deny there is no God. My thoughts exactly Kona. I wouldn't have expected such wisdom from you... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm
Very useful advice Kona...
Bush had a party and we weren't invited? Now there'll be trouble...
Most of the characters on that list are usually the main reasons for watching those shows. I'm not too sure what the rationale is behind the list, or the logic in the choices. One that particularly stood out was Frasier. Surely if he's hated that much, nobody would watch the show...?
I know the thread maybe got a little tired, but is there any chance we could get back on topic any time soon? Sorry to spoil your fun guys, but we have a chat thread for this kind of stuff...
I forgot to add something. Although you may view the relationships beetween and attitudes of those on this site as a 'clique', we're really just a bunch of friendly types who like to encourage each other to produce the best work we can. There's certainly nothing about the dynamic of this group which prevents others from joining in, and we welcome new blood on a daily basis. All you need is the right attitude to what we do here, and the ability to listen to the opinions of others. As som
naitsirch79, I suggest you refrain from the offensive comments, whether they're intended as jokes or otherwise. First Columbine, and now Rodney King. You have a serious judgment problem. As for your wallpapers, while you obviously show the potential to grow into a good artist your work currently doesn't show a professional quality or attention to detail which wallpapers generally require to be accepted and used on a widespread basis. I agree that there's nothing wrong with being inspire
I agree about the English. I suggest putting some of those $17s to good use in hiring a decent translator. Most of the site reads like it's been put through BabelFish. As for the wallpapers, it's really not a new idea, and software has existed for quite a while to show screensavers as desktop wallpaper.
Happy Birthday!! Now about that e-mail I sent you...
Koasati, unless things have changed in the few years it is since I went to school, most schools in the UK teach Religious Education. The subject covers most religions and their beliefs.
What if everyone's right? Is it possible that all of these theories and beliefs can co-exist, or do they all cancel each other out? Perhaps the Christians were created by God, but the Athiests evolved.
Thank you sig101. Although it is true that donations do help to support the development of skins in my free time, I should point out that donating certainly isn't a way of guaranteeing that a particular skin will be updated. They are mainly intended as a way to show your appreciation for my past work, and to gauge how much time I should be devoting to continued development of those skins. Despite t
Can I vote again, or does that just further complicate matters? I know you were only joking Gabriel, so don't worry that I took it the wrong way. You should know that I don't like kittens though...
I was truly shocked to hear about John Ritter. I guess it just goes to show that no matter how strong a person seems, their number can come up at any time. RIP John.
This isn't about you Matt Janx, it's about showing KarmaGirl the love.
Yes we do. Don't listen to the lunatics of this world...
