When is the Community Mod being released formally by Stardock? Why does the first post not have the latest patch version that is in the download directory? What version of the patch is going to be passed to Stardock for QA and formal release?

Is it worth designing ships with defences, or is it still the optimal strat to max the attack? I recall an average roll up was made for a defence score from 0 to Dmax. The score would then be deducted from the average attack roll. The problem obviously is that it is only a matter of time for a low defence roll to result in damage getting through. Slowly round by round the HP are exhausted and the ship is lost. What improvements does the CU mod make, if any, to the area of ship/starbas
Wonderful news on the plans to do more updates. I have held off ToA due to the reports on the ToA forums. Apparantly there is a serious flaw with the evil races that seriously impacts their performance. A quick scan through the ToA forum will highlight serious flaws that seemingly have gone unanswered for over 2 years? I'm really looking forward to when ToA will be at the point where I feel I can risk buying it. DA is too much fun to risk the unique T
Yes, please! Scrolling the tech tree could definitely be better.
Excellent read. Its given me a lot of strategy points to consider in my next game!
Uno: I posted the link to the 1.8f patch which fixes the fleet bug. Its earlier in this thread. Not sure how you missed it...?
Would there be any interest in requesting the devs to code a calc into the ship design screen e.g. test a design against known enemy designs (drop down menu) or custom made enemy designs.
I had a problem with the 1.8e patch. I dropped into the chatroom and a developer helped me out. A DEVELOPER. For that alone I'll put up with SD Central. I would like to download patches to my hd for archive purposes but I do like being able to login and install at a click a fully patched game to any pc solely using the net. I like Steam for the same reason. Please give us the ability to rollback to the previous patch version though. Getting the 1.8f patch out was fast
CariElf has a fix up here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?aid=167594
Drak: Where can we get this fix? I don't mind if its a "beta" fix. At the moment the fleet bug makes the game unenjoyable for me.
Yup, me too. I appreciate all the hard work for continued free patches though A feature to roll-back to previous release would be nice to give you guys time to fix it and allow us to continue playing.
Is there a fleet / combat sim for Dark Avatar a la Kyro's fleet sim for Dread Lords?
You guys do know mega events can be turned off in the game setup screen right?
There is an element of Army upgrades via the tech tree if only as a soldiering bonus and additional attack strategy choices.
This is a known bug Shogun. The Dark Avatar beta talk is happening in the Beta forum not the Dark Avatar forum. I'm not defending Stardocks forum naming policy. It's clearly indefensible
I'd like a Sticky with title of Latest Beta Version. Is there a mailing list for email notification of when a new version is released?
Just realised this thread should be in "Beta Reports". Can a Moderator move the thread please?
My troop transports were unarmed. I'd like to see the game exploit removed whereby an unarmed ship can prevent an invasion. Either remove the exploit or have the AI use it to defend their worlds from imminent invasion. Brad: I've seen the Arcaens build a farm on a precusor library in this game also. Seems you've got some more tweaking to do I'm enjoying DA btw. More than I enjoy
Before I ask for any feature I consider the following question: Will it improve the quality of the AI? If the AI quality is damaged by including this ship module for colonisation type feature I can't support its inclusion.
For those of you wondering: Dark Avatar beta 2a, Large galaxy, abundant planets, tight clusters, normal planet quality. No tech trading. All AIs intelligent, Always use max cpu on. Normal tech advance rate.
Update: After I took 3 of their best worlds in one turn the Arcaens surrendered... to me. I got the rest of their empire (4 or so planets). I wouldn't have been able to take the other 4 for quite some time. The turn after the Torians and Altarians declare war on me... something about facing an agressive threat. Who little old me? Nice to see the AI of the other races at least recognisin
I launched 2 TroopTrans at the Arcaen HW. They build a constructor one turn before I arrive. I haven't sent fighters because mine are out of range. Instead of scuppering my invasion they launch the constructor leaving me free to invade unhindered. I should note here that the AI is still leaving its planets undefended letting me waltz in with TTs. The Terran alliance who fell first built a token fighter on Earth which I wiped out with a 2 fighter fleet. The Arcaens who are next have
DL (Dread Lords aka Galciv 2 normal) Suicidal isn't very suicidal. Mainly for these reasons: The combat cheese (one ship one kill) meaning fleets of tiny fighters will always be more resource efficient than huge hulled leviathons. The AI doesn't leverage this. It's sorted in DA, the expansion. Travel speed and the AI's inability to deal with its implications: The AI can't deal effectively with human ships faster than 8 because the coding doesn't allow it to look enough "turns i
If he was asking that Kyle then the answer is: As of this post you can still pre-order and install the current beta immediately using the serial that will be emailed to you. You will also be able to update the game all the way to release? I recall in the past only the favoured few beta testers were allowed access to the very final updates prior to release but I would hope this doesn't happen to DA... Stardock have mentioned they may set a cut off date after which even
Afaik Brad has rewritten the planet build AI from scratch after he fired the dummy who did such a terrible job of it first time round. Do the latest beta include Brad's planet build AI yet? That should make it worth trying alone.
