They are working on a new forum as far as i know, which will be much easier to naviagate. Being from england myself i am, too, concerned with buying a game on amazon.co.uk But here is what i will do: if on the 26th amazon.co.uk wont have GalCiv i will order it directly from stardock and dowload it immidiately. if amazon.co.uk does have GalCiv on the 26th (which will probably be on pre-oder only) i will compare the prices and see if its worth waiting for galciv here in uk (but i doub

I was actually talking only about 'tribute for peace' situation, not 'tribute for goods'. But i do understand your point. What about being able to cancel tribute for peace but not payments for goods? If the nation declares war on you the tribute you paid to that nation for NOT going to war with you should be cancelled. But what about giving planets and technologies and whatever in order to make peace? After the other side gets everything it can off you and signs peace only to have you destroyed
This is what i know so far: 1) On the 26th of march you can order the game directly form stardock. They will ship it to you for $10 extra. But while the game is being shipped you can download the whole game from their website. 2)You will have to download it. 3)I dont know what the game is like since i havent played it. But one thing is for sure: GalCiv rocks!!!! ;)
And one more thing: My knowledge of computers doesnt extend beyond dowloading and playing games. So is drengin.net really easy to use, because i WILL struggle if it has any computer jargon in it...

I thought of it too, but i think it would violate their agreement with the publisher or the distributor or something. I am actually interested to know if Stardock is listed on the Stock Exchange. Wouldnt mind doing a bit of research into their financial figures. :)

I think there should be a limit like in civ3. For 20 turns you have to pay the tribute and then peace treaty is renegotiated. If any1 breaks the deal before those 20 turns are expired then their reputation gets a massive penaly and other nations (even their allies, good friends etc) are more likely to go to war with them. I know GalCiv isnt Civ3, and i really dont want it to be. In my opinion GalCiv shapes up to be one of the best games ever. I am just worried that people might abuse this thing,

Questions might be stupid but i just dont get it: 1) Can one race make an alliance with another? Or maybe alliance against a third nation? 2) Paying tribute after suing for peace was discussed before and it was said that even when the war is subsequently declared you continue to pay the tribute. So wont that be easy to abuse even from the AI's point of view. Say you sue for peace with AI and pay him 100bc per turn for next 20 turns. Next turn he declares war on you again and you co
I know i cant pre-order the game from amazon.com because i am in UK and a while ago when i tried to pre-order civ3 it wouldnt let me just because i am living outside US. This might be different for GalCiv though so i will have to try...

What about if you demand tribute from AI for making peace with them but the next turn declare war on them and demand more tribute for new peace agreement. Wont that be open to abuse???
Talking about dowloads...can i dowload this beta version (or whatever you call this 5C or something) or is it just for selected few ppl who simply qualified for testing the game before it comes out... I know its a silly question but i though i would ask anyway...
