Yep, happened here with my first download/install of WB6. Everytime I changed a skin/applied changes thru WBconfig - a new instance of Screen.exe. Desk.cpl access via Display properties/Appearance tab is also fubar when Windowblinds is unloaded (works fine if WB is running). Followed Bichur's advice from another thread and now the multiple Screen.exe problem is gone. I haven't installed the latest build of Windowblinds for fear that something else will go wrong (still using WindowBlinds

Look in the folder where your Sysmetrix program is installed (default location would be C:/Program files/Sysmetrix). Look for the file named sysmetrix.chm - or you could just do a local search for that file. That's the document that would tell you everything you could ever need to know about using sysmetrix, modifying themes and making themes. Hope this helps!

from the SysMetrix Documentation: "That's because SysMetrix finds out which media player you have associated with .mp3 files, and executes that - which explains why WMP is started up correctly. However, SysMetrix uses the WinAmp2 API to control media players, so currently the supported players are WinAmp2, WinAmp5, QCD Player, CoolPlayer, and Foobar 2000 to a limited extent. I chose to implement that, as it works fantastically with the millions of users who are currently using WinA

Well at least I did (just now) figure out a workaround for the problem with accessing the Display Properties/Appearance tab after Windowblinds had unloaded. Went into the system32 folder and sent a shortcut to 'desk.cpl' to my desktop. I can now access it no problem and it works like it used to. Such a small thing but oh what a relief. This Monday is starting to look up.

Thanks for the reply Bichur. No luck in finding any suggestions in the search results for rundll, dll error, etc. I just checked and found that the problem w/ multiple instances of Screen.exe has returned on this machine. Oh well, I guess betas will be betas sometimes. Geesh, I hope I don't wind up having to reinstall the O/S in order to get this straightened out. I would resort back to the default MCE 'Energy Blue' theme if I could get back to that state. Unfortunat

Ok, followed Bichur's advice and it fixed the problem of having multiple instances of 'Screen.exe' showing up in task manager - one for each time I 'Apply Changes' in WBconfig - but I still get the 'RunDLL Error' when I try to open 'Display Properties/Appearance Tab' if WB6 is not loaded. Is this normal?

I also had the same problem when upgrading from a perfectly normal working WB5 thru SDCentral. The WB6 installation progress bar showed 100% complete but the progress bar in the small 'copying files' window for one of the skin folders was stuck at about 70%. When I moved this small window out of the way there were others under it - one for each skin folder - all stuck on various stages of being complete (I only had about 10-12 skins installed that were being moved). During this time my system

John, Are you saying that you've found a way to make the icons display bigger than 48x48 in, for example, My Documents or C:/Program Files .... on WindowsXP? I've been trying to figure this out for weeks without any luck.

Got my first computer (Windows Me) and was searching for new icons - I swear that's all I was looking for. I found JamesT's 'Globe' icons on this site. Now, 4 years later, I'm using Windowblinds, Iconpackager, CursorXP, Objectbar, Objectdock, DesktopX, WindowsFX, Rainlendar, SysMetrix ... etc. Now I'm running WindowsXP Home - SP2 and I see no end in sight. Damn you JamesT <img src="http://images3.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmid

I agree with Dave. Heck - put up a "Paypal" donate button or something on the home page to make it easy to contribute. I think I still have over a year left on my subscription but I know that I've gotten way more than my $20 worth of info & goodies off Wincustomize.

Bonzo, I had the same problem. Anything posted in the libraries within the past 24 hrs (approx) refused to download (http error 404). Finally updated the libraries on my Wincustomize Browser, surfed the site using that and got Pasley's 'Navy' to download on the first try---woo hoo! Still don't know what the problem is but it was driving me up the wall <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/jokeg
