The thing I don't get about Apple is they basically have the same parts as a similar equipped Windows notebook yet cost 3 times more. Why?
What cable providers do you guys have?? I'm seeing a lot of quotes of $200, but here you can get TV+phone+internet for $90 a month...
I have Comcast. 200+ channels of TV, On-Demand service, HBO and Encore movie channels, and 25 Mbps all for around $120 per month.
I don't think our household could rid of cable. We watch shows that aren't available in their latest season on Netflix and other streaming services. We also use the Comcast on demand services quite often. Besides we get a huge discount for having cable bundled with our internet.
I don't know why you all are up in arms about Facebook collecting personal info about you on the internet. Google does it. No such thing as privacy if you use the internet.
I don't see ads when I use Facebook. But then again I don't see ads anywhere on any site thanks to Adblock plus. :)
Hopefully they go back to naming Windows versions something other than numbers.
Looks like I was wrong. I had 7 updates to install. After install I had to network access. So I had to uninstall all of them. These were from May as well. Noit sure what went wrong.
Strange - I only have one optional update available. :(
Everybody has Windows 8 and 8.1 running nice and fast. Except me. Windows 8 runs really, really slow on my hardware. But I've said this before. Suppose I will give Windows 8 another try when I can afford a WiFi adapter that runs on Windows 8. Mine does not.
You planning on buying a new computer, kona?
Yeah, As soon as I can find one for 25 cents. That's all I have. :)
Wasn't aware a $500 dollar phone was cheap. Anyhow, back to topic. :)
If Android devices are crap, why do they along with Apple sell more units than Windows phones?

What if you buy a new PC after the deadline and no updates were installed?
Thanks guys, Now I just need to find a IDE cable. :)
People tell me to search Google for the answers. I would rather get first hand experience from the people I trust. Is that so wrong?
Yeah, I'm a computer tech. However I have never had two systems sitting side by side, one with IDE and the other with SATA to measure performance. Some here have done that, or something similar. I was hoping to hear from those people.
Yeah, forget I asked. You all used to be nice about such things. Jafo or others mods can lock this thread now.
I mostly just cruise the internet, run really old games, and use Microsoft office all day. Would i see much of a slow down?
I have a sneaky suspicion that my hard drive is going south. The only other drive I have is a 200 GB IDE hard drive. I was curious if I would see much of a speed drop. Been looking it up, but figured you all would know.
Since when did unfair make a difference.
Since there were laws already in place to prevent what we are talking about, especially the 4th amendment of the Constitution.
Apple and Android are outselling Windows phones here in the US. They are not very popular around here, more or less a curse, considered "not cool" to own.
And if that happens there will be lawsuits to repeal such actions because it's unfair.
