I get around 50 Mbps with no limits for $40 a month. That also includes the Comcast router. Guess I can't complain.

I use Netflix a lot in my house. I have never seen Comcast throttle my speed.
We can hardly afford Comcast as it is. :(
A wireless adapter these days is relatively cheap... like under 10 bucks for one of those USB types, and that would allow you to run Win 8 with internet connectivity. Alternatively, there's the idea of running a LAN extension lead from the modem to your PC. Again, this would cost you under 10 bucks (I recently purchased a 25 metre LAN for $8.95) and you could tuck it away against the wall, etc, to save anyone tripping on it.
So
So if they reinstate the cap I will have a hard time watching Netflix as we watch a lot of Netflix in my household.
Starkers didn't send me a disk. He bought Windows 8 for me and I received a email from Microsoft with instructions to download and burn the Windows image. The key was included in the email. It is not a OEM key. Thanks everyone for the support. I now remember why I haven't upgraded from Windows 7. Windows 8 does not work with my wireless USB network adapter. And my computer sits too far away to run a LAN cable. Back to the drawing board. :)
Actually I didn't know it wouldn't activate until recently. Nevermind I said anything. :)
Every time I put that key in it says it was already activated on another machine. I have never used the key on any other machine, nor have I successfully activated it on any machine. Microsoft says I need a new copy.
It will not activate, nor can I get a copy of it anymore. I've gone rounds with Microsoft to no avail.
I really have an itch to run Windows 8. I mean it's like a sickness. Even after all of the bad things I have said, I want to switch from 7 to 8 really bad. Found out my system will run 8 just fine. Problem is getting a copy. Might take a very, very long time to afford Windows 8. No income right now.
And use IE or Chrome? Are you mad?
I have Windows 7. My point is that even after rebooting 5 times it's still taking upwards of five minutes to boot when it used to take one minute at the most.
Booting up after the updates took 4 minutes and every time after that is taking 4 or 5 minutes. Used to take 40 seconds.
I just upgraded this one two months ago.
I installed the updates today. Made my computer slow to a crawl. Any ideas on this?
Good luck getting my step daughter off of her laptop and phone. The phone isn't hooked up, but it is a great ereader and MP3 player. She goes nuts without her technology. It's like a security blanket. Oh, and the phone is a Nokia Lumia. [e digicons]:-"[/e]
Once activated and your copy of Windows is authenticated, you are then entitled to all the downloads and updates available for your particular version. A pirate copy does not qualify for these benefits and misses out on various security patches and etc. Like I said, it makes no sense to go with a pirated version... one would be left vulnerable without those security updates.
I've seen computers using a key that belongs to anoth
Yeah that's what I thought. It's obvious these computers came with Vista. They are running Core 2 Duo CPUs. Old stuff. Where in the EULA does it say that so I can tell him?
No, these are Dell computers he bought after a few companies upgraded. They have 2 year old hardware. He says he uses the same disc to install Windows 7 on them, then sells them on Craigslist. I'm just curious what the EULA says so I can tell him.
Correct me if I am wrong, but if you sell a computer with Windows installed you must include the Windows CD/DVD and the PC must have a legit COA sticker right? Where is that in the EULA? Trying to prove a point to a guy selling several computers on Craigslist using the same DVD and key for all of them.
Isn't Windows 8 itself a major Windows problem? [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Which has its own vulnerabilities. Other browsers are NOT "immune" to exploits. I wasn't aware IE could be removed from the OS, just disabled. WU depends on it, for one thing.
I'm confused. Windows Update is in the control panel. How does it rely on IE?
I tried those extensions, they didn't work. It's OK, I will stick to version 28. :)
No, not that easy. I like to have the Add-on bar on the bottom. On that bar I have Forecast Fox running telling me the weather temp outside. The new Firefox gets rid of that bar. No thanks.
Local news has the following story about IE: http://www.kgw.com/news/Homeland-Security-Dont-use-IE-browser--257075001.html
