Mark, with all due respect, I don't think the issue with 8 was being released too early. It certainly did not help any. The faults were the UI. Taking away the traditional Start menu was a huge mistake. Trying to get people used to using Metro was another.

Promoting from within will not help Microsoft overcome the public's thoughts on Windows 8. I wonder how he will deal with that mess.
Not as long as I have a external hard drive to work with. :)
Playing Devil's advocate here but do you all really trust putting your data in the cloud? [e digicons];)[/e]
Yeah you're right Phoon. :) RedNeckDude you caught me. Red handed. I was curious about Windows 8 again. 7 has been a bit slow lately. Sorry. I know what I have aid about 8. Was just trying to fit in. Maybe I should quit trying to please others and just be myself. Anyhow, Will try what was said in reply 2. Thanks!
Hey I edited post 10 my friend. No worries. It's all good, thanks. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Does it really matter RedNeck? Do we really have to keep tabs on what I do or not do? Simply wanted to know if there was a drive, that's all. Thanks!!
I never said it was for my computer. Didn't think about that did ya? Wizard - tried that. No go. Windows 8 does not like either one of those installers.
Yeah a new one would be nice. I must put it on my list of things to buy when I get some money. Might be a long time. In the meantime I'll try to get this one I have working. [e digicons]|-)[/e]
Does Realtek offer a driver? Their site is confusing!
Looking for a working driver for the Belkin FD71101 wireless USB network card. Windows 8 does not recognize the card, and Belkin does not supply a driver for Windows 8.
I don't hate Windows 8. Takes to much energy to hate anything or anyone. :)
I'll probably be ready to switch when Windows 9 comes out and Microsoft apologizes for making 8 a crappy OS. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Tsk, tsk, tsk. Still trying to talk me into running Windows 8 Mark? I can't do it. It runs like crap on my system. Sorry.
... or that the 2 second boot doesn't give you enough time to prevent Google inserting all sorts of advertising into your emails, both sent and received.
Mark I have yet to see even ONE advert from Google in my Gmail even after using it for years. Do you wear a tin foil hat when you use your computer? [e digicons];P[/e]
Yeah. I need a drink and a thousand bucks. That should do it for some computer upgrades. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Does putting the system to sleep every night count as a cold boot when started back up?
Have you actually looked/tried outlook.com
Yes I have. I do have a Hotmail account, just don't like using it compared to Gmail.
If I wanted to setup Windows 8 with a Gmail account as the main email. Does it really have to be a Microsoft email account? I have a healthy dislike of Hotmail.
Can 8 be setup with a Gmail account?
Don't tell Starkers about this thread. He'll flip.
Severe problems over several hours? That wasn't my experience. My Gmail went down for only 15 minutes.
I never got that option. Maybe it's just on 8.1 installs.
I doubt I will have any issues. On new hardware? The issues you speak of would have shown up on 7 by now. Thank you for your concern, but I'm sure it's OK.
No thanks. I'll just run 7 and leave 8 alone. No worries. :) But I'm pretty sure it's not my hardware as both the hard drive and memory are brand new and tested.
