As fun as it is to try and think up new races... I'll leave that to the experts... I'm intrigued by ways of making whatever races are introduced not intrusive towards the existing continuity. If you make a game where so and so _may_ have happened in the Prime continuity, but it doesn't really matter then you're doing it right. Some thoughts: I'd love to see the Androsynth happen in this game. They are mostly off camera in SC2, which makes them

Frankly you've got to be very careful with it. If a Human Cruiser gets a speed boost it's a very different animal than an off the shelf Cruiser. I do like how SC1 handled upgrades... where sometimes you'd find one and have to attach it to one of your ships and you're unable to re-distribute it. All in all, if they go down that route they'll have to be really cautious.
Hey everyone! My name is Derek Rawlings, and Star Control 2 ruined my grade 11 grades. I was totally hooked and am elated that we're getting a new product. Let me know if there's any way I can be of service; I want this game to succeed. DR
You would not believe how excited I am for this! Let's talk about some details: Top down is a must. I mean, that's SC by definition, right? Upgrade the 16 direction thing - give us more firing arcs I personally enjoy the simplicity of the ships. I don't want to see a reboot where all ships now have 5-8 attach types each. At present we have standard attack and special attack; I could see adding one more thing per ship, tops. <l
