i'd definatly like to hear some more feedback about the battles... I hope it gives enough differences between ships

Its been mentioned before, but all the intereations (I,II ...) of technology are not very interesting
From what Ive seen, the AI still has huge amounts of colonies.
Im not sure, but are starting positions balanced? On gigantic, with 4 opponents, I already have borders with everyone and its 2341, Ive been playing 15 minuts maybe. I still feel all that the beginning is about is rushing colony ships.
just in support of the above post... MOO2 (I know...) had an interesting system. They had Laser, but not II, III etc. Upgrading from Laser to Fusion was a big deal. Laser would get minituarized all by itself as time went on (I forget the specifics). So getting a new weapon was a big deal (to me at least). I don't get too excited by all the iterations of a laser...
the civ 4 ai will also be moddable with the SDK
good to hear
So, none of the ideas in the thread make it in?
i didn't read that... i read : -2 to -3 They are significantly more powerful than you are. if its a good civ, then maybe it shouldn't be a negative?
If a good civ has military might, why should that mean its negative on relations, could very well be neutral? If an evil civ has military might, I agree it should have a negative effect.
Id also like to add: You broke a treaty , should be a negative
Are empire placements totally random? I started out against 4 opponents on gigantic.. when I explored out to my influence border, I also had 2 opponents's borders touching mine. This is very early game, not even a colony ship built yet.
Ever won a game in Civ IV by swallowing up all the other cities through culture? hehe, fair enough
HP's get added
When I build something, I get the popup and the icon. If I choose goto planet, should that also get rid of the icon? Currently it does not.
how about... enemy could be anyone they really dont like... trading routes with their enemy trading tech and other things with enemy You are allied(have diplo deals) with their enemy
The Iconians are said to be inventive in their desc (they created the Yor). But it says their minus is weak research skills.
Has the dream of playing against a profile from the metaverse come to pass yet?
the lines were on the AI ships..
If that is true... why would the AI want to build one there?
So whats the deal with the lines pointing out where ships are going? Is this a debug kinda thing? Would be neat to have in game as a part of the intel system
try #2, my last post is not showing... Map sizes seem to be random even when I choose gigantic I have loads of 'string not found' I will uninstall/reinstall tonight to see if that helps
I choose gigantic, but sometimes the map is not that size, it comes up as tiny, or large... seems random. If I also go to the main menu, sometime it will crash when making a new game. I also have loads of 'string not found' I am going to uninstall/reinstall tonight.
I updated the drivers and it fixed the crash. True about needing a gig of ram. Currently, I am using a mod that slows things down a bit and lets you soend more time in the eras, so you can use your units. Religion has been pretty important to me. It gives AI players a reason. I have better relations with those of the same religion and worse with those are different. So the AI has another reason to act a certain way. Ive seen
Any documentation on the security problem with civ4? Usually its called 0day As for civ4 being just in beta... I have only had minor issues. onlt ctd's with movies... sometimes. Sound is fine. I think the UI is just fine... Slowdowns yes, but only in late game. Diplo has worked very well for me? I guess its a very subjective experience. The more I learn about civ4 the
