yea, i understand now... maybe that is something that should be spelled out more on the web page and such. Now that I fully understand, I went back and read it and it makes sense. But that could be just me. It is an interesting idea for a product. I think a *nix client would be a good addition. That would add a capability that is not really out there. It's possible to do with things like cygwin and other Xserver type software but whats out

Yea, sadly it is not remote, so it really is not like Remote Desktop, vnc and the rest. " It is designed for Power Users." Well that sounds insulting I would think having 1 monitor and using many boxes is also a power user type thing p.s. just giving you a hard time
Yarlen, see if you can get Space Empires 4 Gold
My main question was about the amount of monitors necessary and which systems need the monitors. Can I use this with just a laptop, that will only ever have it's 1 monitor to manage headless sytems?
I posted in your TotG review announcement too (with other questions)...., Im a little confused on the 2 monitors thing, so I have my management computer, does that need 1 or 2 monitors, and the PC I want to manage, does that need a monitor too? An aside, I don't think you can use an XP/Linux analogy to describe Mult. and VNC. Linux is just the kernel. WindowsXP is much more than just a kernel. Not all 'linux' is free (i.e. RedHat Enterpri
This may be answered in the review, but what is the differnce between this and Remote Desktop? I read brad's article, and maybe Im just dense, but I don't see the advantage of Multiplicity over Remote Desktop. You give a feature comparison between Multiplicty Standard and Pro, how about between Multiplicty and other like
rcept diplomatic deals or war news (amoung other things). I think being able to intercept ship designs would be alot of fun
not sure about that... hopefully a dev could answer
yea, we should not be able to request a certain ship in a trade. I think they could be offered for trade, but not requested. Unless you can make a real general ship request, like "I'd like a warship."
//images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle"> Since there are speciality starbases, maybe it could be one (that is stealthy).
yea, frogboy said in a preview that users can skin the interface... should be interesting.
I suggest you read the GUI journals in the forum... they do use it and you can customize it
ha has intercepted plans for a Yor ship! (plans) " You can start to place some value on certain listening post. just some ideas...
you never know, as they have said, starbases were introduced during the beta of GC1. I think it would add alot of flavor to the game.
I thought I read that DestopX was used to make much of the GUI.... I looked at it, didn't see that sorta functionality, so howd you do that?
ption and practices. just some more thoughts
I always felt that spying and such was never handled well in 4x type games. For instance, I would like to set up secret listening posts, code breaking programs, spy rings... also get some good (story like reports). Listening post could reveal ship locations and such (for some period of time), or details of tech deals. But they could also be found out ior destroyed by covert ops missions... They would be somewhat expensive to make (especially if you want them
I think the humans ships should look like those from Babylon 5, always liked those Course that is just my opinion, would be cool if that was a ship type to be chosen (not exact of course). Bling for that kind of ship wouldn't be alot of flare or sharp angles...
I think alot of the arguement is over semantics , sure we were never promised in those exact words, but we were lead to believe that there would be more games. Maybe that is the issue? One thing about the old system was that the subscribers had no feedback on what games we get. I didn't really care for most of the games... but thats the way the system works. I think Space Empires 4 Gold would be a great edition. Which is tricky, you ca
hmm, not sure if I like the new system. It makes perfect sense for Stardock, but we are going from getting all the games to only 3 or 4 (for 2 years). Consider 5 tokens for GC2, which I'd think most people would be buying, that leaves 5 tokens. Thats maybe 2, or at most 3 other games. It is still a good deal (i.e. GC2 for only 35), but not nearly as good as it was.
got it thanks.... So will 1 token be useful? Seems likely people would end up with 1
I asked this in the other thread, but how do I find out when my subscription ends?
For the sake of the user, it may be better to have it at a low default, but those who want to mod (and should theoretically know what will happen if they put too much) can up the limit. That will give the stability for the general user and the flexability to those of us who want it.
How does one check when their subscription ends?
the 2 games look pretty decent that are coming out. theres a free demo of Uplink: Hackers Elite
