Um, I just started downloading the V.102 update, and it says I'm 1.25M / 84.2MB.... Please tell me this is a joke. I'm only on 56K. :( ~SDC~

It's the reviewers job to research the game and play it. To blatently accuse the game of cheating, without any research or PROOF is in extremely poor taste, especially for a reviewer. He should not be allowed to review games on that site if that's what he's going to do.
Isn't this new "Stellar Vision" tech a lot like "Eyes of the Galaxy?", except infinite range?
I'd like to see an "offline" build queue available. What I'd like to do it be able to set a queue up that has everything under the sun in it BEFORE researching the techs and prioritize them before I research them. So the AI would build whatever is highest priority AND has been researched. If it hasn't been researched yet, it goes down the queue until it finds something that has. This way I wouldn't have to keep adjusting my queue everytime I get a new social tech. Saving this and impor
A few pages back I posted that my cursor was erratic since I installed the patch. That was with a game that was started pre-patch. Since then I've started a new game and that problem seems to be gone now. ~SDC~
I'll remember that in my next game. Not sure exactly when I tried to use the range extention. Thanks! ~SDC~
I tried to use them to increase my range and it did nothing. I put one in the furthest square I could travel without getting the "can't go there" message and after the starbase was built it still wouldn't let me go there. Do I need a special upgrade? Also, does the culture bonus do anything in a sector without a planet? I thought it magnified the culture from planets not sectors. ~SDC~
Doh! just saw one! :) :notsure: ~SDC~
I haven't seen a claim that has shown up on the metaverse... ;) ~SDC~
Oh, I just thought of some other oddities. I installed the 1.01A patch and after that my cursor jumps around when moving ships. I think what it's doing is selecting a new ship but I don't want it to. It's annoying because it's disorientating me severely. I have to go back to whatever sector I was in. Also I noticed that if I click somewhere on the map while a ship is moving, it stops the ship from finishing its move, which is not the way it worked before the 1.01a patch. I liked it bet
"Sigh...sounds more like you want a gameoption to remove the FoW. Boring if you ask me..." How is an autoscout feature like removing FOW? It just takes the micromanagement of moving your scout ship manually. You still have to invest time / resources to uncover what's out there (and patrol after you do). I think your on the wrong page here. So your wrong, if you ask me... ;)
I looked and I don't think that is it (the one on the downloads page is a shareware version link). I wrote to gamestop but haven't heard back yet. I don't mind waiting for it, I just want to know what's going on. The only reason I preordered from gamestop was that freebie. I wated a few extra days for this glorious game for that freebie! I deserve it! ;)
Bug with antimatter missles. I saw this twice in my last game. I had a stack of 2 antimatter missles (no ships) and was attacked by a full health dreadnaught. On top of 1 missle getting destroyed from the attack, the dreadnaught was destroyed. Since the missle has a defense of 1 (there was nothing in the sector to give defensive bonuses that I was aware of), I assumed an undefended missle would just die when attacked by pretty much anything. I could see if the second missle cou
For viewing in Internet explorer, make sure you turn off the autoimage scaling and it should be larger if your having trouble reading it.
I've been getting this crash also. When I updated to 1.01A it let me go 20-30 more turns but it just happened to me again. I have a soundblaster Audigy and I'm not using a custom mp3 list if that helps. If it's repeatable, I'll send the game to you. ~SDC~
I preordered from Gamestop and I was supposed to get a free download of a GalCiv skin from Stardock. I haven't heard anything yet. Does anyone know what the deal with this is? ~SDC~
Strategic resources are empire wide, not sector wide so you should put a starbase there whether or not there is a planet. Most of the upgrades are only applicable to the planets in that sector so you just would skip the ones that don't apply (of course beefing up the starbase defense would be a high priority). ~SDC~
Nice report! I have a question though, I don't understand how resources give 70% to military. When I mouseover the resources it always says 5% and I've never seen a module that adds anymore to this. Am I missing something???
I would like to see this also, I was hoping "explore sector" would jump from sector to sector and clear it out. Another useful feature would be "auto survey WITH auto scouting".
"Destabilization reduces morale, AFAIK. " Which lowers their economy and decreases their production. :)
I was an Ally with the Arcaens for many turns (game was set to easy (one step above the bottom) BTW). Honoring our alliance, I declared War on the Drengins when they went to war with them. The war went on for a few dozen turns or so. My economy couldn't handle the war any longer so I made peace with the drengin. This made the Arcaens HATE me and go to war with me, which in a weird twist had the Drengin helping me. My question is, should the arcaens have declared war on me right away? Is
There is a penalty to losing an offense on a planet - if you used a Combat Transport, you just lost 5 Billion People (assuming you maxed out). I just waged a war with the Arcaens and took 5 systems from them, I was having a hard time finding planets that I could afford to transport people off. I would like to see building and / or tech's that enhance the defenders capability (or maybe give them defensive options like the attacker gets to increase their odds. I don't want to see "missle
Three bugs I've seen. - If you max out the destabilize slider on an enemy race, then hit the increase arrow, it still increases even though it was previously maxed out (not sure if it actually does any more but it shows more money being spent. - I saw the AI build a starbase on a resource I already claimed with a starbase (I think this is a bug anyway...). - If you build a starbase "under" a solar system, and disembark a constructor (which puts in on top of the starbas
"There is a planet quality bonus setting which the AI could have chosen. If the AI choose the +15% option, it would explain the change in values!" What? Are you saying they customize their race at the start of the game? Or do you mean a "moral decision" was made by them in the game? I'm getting the game tonight so I'm a little confused by your statement.
