If I change my laptop to 100% scaling I get the full screen in KVM mode. Any way to fix this without always messing with the laptop scaling when using multiplicity? Edit: Also the mouse in the KVM window is off - like it's following the 150% scaling but doesn't match the vide
Just found a leather curias and was hitting E to equip it and got a hard crash. This game really doesn't like my computer - hope this helps because I really like it when I can play it. debug.err file
Sorry I can't be specific, but I've had 3 crashes all when moving on the strategic map. I don't recall any specific thing that was common between all 3. I'll post the three here and I'll try to figure out what exactly is causing it. https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D213189_2946853_74581 https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D
TYVM! downloading and checking it out!
Dear god! Please say your not an english major. Oh the horror that is uncapitalized sentences! ;p You'll have plenty of time. I worked my way through college (and after that 40+ hour workweek and graduate school). Always found plenty of time for games (with an engineering degree no less).
Wouldn't it be neat if, on the diplomacy screen, techs where one party had a monopoly were displayed in a different color, say red. If I have a monopoly on battleships, I'm more reluctant to trade them than if another AI already has them.
I love that idea! I never bother checking whether or not I have a monopoly on a tech. but I sure woud be more wary if I knew I had it. The AI could use this also to determine if the tech is more valuable than the default. It could also c
I had a problem like that once, it's likely an incompatability between your MB and Video Card. The same thing helped me a few years back except I had to do the opposite (I had to go from 64MB to 8MB I believe). When I upgraded my MB / Processor the problem went away. I just wanted to let people know that I'm not sure it's a "GalCiv" problem but maybe just a problem unique to your setup. It's still worth a try for people who are having problems. BTW, what did you mean by "f
This was discussed a while ago and I'm not sure if anyone at Stardock has said they are looking into it but I'll ask anyway. I'm planning on picking this game up again (other games have been calling me lately...got on an RPG kick). Are there any plans on making the gov's more useful? I don't mean give them an AI, I mean I'd like to actually queue up building priority before I have researched them instead of tweaking the list everytime I research something new.
I'm not a fan of a decomissioned ship adding resources for two reasons. 1) It always seems to work out to some kind of exploit (like the caravan / wonder thing in Civ games). 2) It seems unintuitive to me, since when does recycling actually make a profit? I mean, you would get the resources back but you would expend quite a bit of $$$ and effort to take that thing apart.
Try maxing out the military modules and defence modules. They will become much more powerful, as they become mobile-support starbases. If you want to plan a heavy attack in a single area, send in those bases and watch your invincible forces tear the enemy to shreads.
That's exactly how I use them. Although the AI at normal gives me a hard time so maybe it's not the best tactic. I tend to be a builder and try to max out everything in my games (which is another reason why
OMG! It's my long lost BIG brother!! How the hell are you Giga?!? ~SDC~
"KiloOhm, Combat transports don't invade defended systems. They still have 0 att (Unless that increased Transport attack UP issue comes up). If you want to take out the transport, use high attack ships." I realize that, what I was trying to say is that I don't want to have a combat transport having free run of my system until I'm able to bring in attack ships. I think defensive type ships should have a shot at intercepting ships that are in your system. Any combat orientated ship should
I'll second the missles. In the late game they are a fantastic way to defend your sectors. A couple of missles and a few dreadnaughts / Battle Hammers and your all set. ~SDC~
If you nerf defensive ships attack capability you reduce your ability to intercept a combat transport that's in your system. I think defensive ships should be used for whatever you want. If anything, I would suggest either increasing the cost or modifying the stats but I definately would not want to have completely specialized combat ships. ~SDC~
I use SDC through a proxy server at work. You need to tell SDC that your going through a proxy and give some port info though. I haven't tried to register GAlciv through work though, just login and use thr forums. ~SDC~
Just re-read your message, missed the word "defensive", which of course changes what I said, apparently you already think they way I do. That would be a nice addition if you could park them next to a planet and let it defend a planet. It would be neat for starbases could do the same. ~SDC~
I like the idea's you have, but don't the modules you fit into it fit the category of sphere of influence? If I upgrade a Terror Star to have fusion cannons, it already assists ships with it's weapons, just not directly. I look at it like they can't attack because they are the slowest thing around. Ships can infinately outmaneuver them which means that they can't "attack" ships, only defend against them (think Star Wars Death Star, the ships went to it). It would be neat if they could a
"I know tons of girls that want to bone her." I don't think those are girls then... :d ~SDC~
No search feature in this forum, unfortunately. As for the auto-retreat, I haven't used it, but my guess is that it has your ship B-line back into your territory. I'll have to try it out tonight. ~SDC~
You know that movie didn't get enough credit, I thought it was an awesome parody of the whole star trek / sci-fi thing. It ranks up there with space balls in my book. (Galaxy Quest, if you didn't know) ~SDC~
Great job! Now I've finally seen the *good* interface. >:-) ~SDC~
"Actually they look like giant squids with dozens of tentacles and covered in a foul-smelling ichor, with more teeth than you can shake a stick at. They're simply projecting a psychic image as not to frighten the puny humans." And...they sound like they are always running out of breath when they talk... 'By Grapnar's (sp?) hammer!' ;) ~SDC~
JeffJAM - GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!!! :) Thanks for the effort! :) The other tech trees I've seen need a plotter to print properly. I could wallpaper my room with them! :d ~SDC~
But the Devs have already said Never, in fact I believe Frogboy said if anything, multi would be in a GalCiv2. :notsure:
