Yes and Yes You must have the right defense fir the weapon your up against. Approval (high) posts everything (mfg,research, ,,,) Low approval hurts everything. Note: its a sliding scale +25%.. -25% ?; not all tool tips show approval impact but it is there

Can no longer build the culture add ons past the first one. It may be due to starbase marked being in both the marketing and customer relations technologies. It should be in only one place. Also the culture forum is in the diplomacy tech path vs culture

Did you try going all the up the invasion tree (e.g i see you do not have core detonation) . It appears to be very rare, only seen it twice (many games/planets & builds..). Playing as Yor both times and it was on their home world. No mods or race changes. My planet was fairly well established, had the research project running, finished researching a mfg tech, auto upgrade put all the buildings in my planet's build Q. Sounds OK, right?
