I realize that the manual is online in HTML, but will we be able to download a PDF version with it; or does the download come with the manual already? Thanks. /ds ~SDC~

Except that it crashes and/or makes my system unstable. If I leave the client up overnight, usually my box is unresponsive in the morning (Win98SE). And, the other day when it updated followed by a restart of the client, it asked for my username/password again. After I entered it and clicked OK, it crashed again. /ds

This would have to be toggleable as you noted. I loathed Civ3 telling me all the time what was happening in the world. If I want to know, I'll get a status report myself, dangit! /ds

Sten, I had a similar thought yesterday. For the intelligence settings, an upper and lower bound on the random setting is sufficient to solve this problem. That way, if you are an "normal" player, you could set the range to be "normal to bright" and then randomize it. /ds

One approach would be to do it ala Quake mod SDK. Header files are supplied. DLLs are written and loaded into the existing game at run-time. Thanks, though. /ds

As part of the ongoing support by Stardock, I would like to see the AI interface opened such that players can replace the human player (or another race) with their own, custom AI. It should be flexible and extensible enough that the writer can delegate behavior to the existing AI. This prevents them from having to write a full-blown AI and can start small. It's a pipe dream but worth mentioning. /ds

#9 Gravitational Anomaly This anomaly can be in the form of an appearing black hole, star going supernova, or some tech side effect. It's effect, if not countered quickly enough by a technology, is that all planet's rating shifts over time to n-1, n-2, ..., n-X (the X can be fixed or randomly determined). Researching the "tech" before a shift has occured will counter all shifts across the galaxy. Once a shift has happened the "tech" will stabilize all planets at their new level by n
