[quote who="Neil Banfield" reply="36" id="3360364"] Quoting doctorx, reply 33 yep.... it is eset... i just uninstalled it and it is now working. Funny though... absolutely no other programs have issues with it. Unfortunately it looks like this may be something only ESET can fix as it is something they are doing. Excluding wbcore.exe from it didn't seem to help here. EDIT: I have found a way to mak
I can't figure it out... what I can however is that I too did upgrade from windows 7 to windows 8 64bit. I tried the solution where I run the installer again. It did reboot but then still didn't work. I disabled my security software, didn't help. Also all of my settings are the same as they were under windows 7. So there is still part of that windowblinds left behind. Not sure where though. I checked after I uninstalled and the windowblind
I'm having the same problem with Windowblinds isn't installed correctly. Disabled antivirus didn't fix it. I have Eset 6 as well... Windowblinds is listed in services.msc and wbcore.exe is in the windowblinds directory. Not sure what the problem is.
I just figured something out... so DWM was running but not enabled... all I did was went into twaek 7, and next to the button to restart DWM was a checkbox that said "Enable DWM (Default:Enabled)" so I checked the box, and when it rebooted, it started up with everything clear like it was supposed to be... it may be worth checking that box everytime you change your Windowblinds skin.... just a thought..
I too am having this problem... it's been going on for well over a year... when I boot up I load tweak 7 and select restart dwm and that fixes it, but it's annoying that I have to do that at every boot up... I didn't use Window FX 4 and I had these problems before installing window fx 5 not sure but I think it's an incompatibilty with deskscapes and windowblinds....
omg i'm not sure how to react to all this.... but I can't nice so. Frak everyone.
You can add a "per application" exception to windowblinds. put the EXE for the game in that list. This should fix your problem. If that doesn't not work the next step is to right click on the program shortcut, click on the compatibility tab and select disable desktop composition. also, are you running the demo of windowblinds or the full version from Impulse/Stardock.com? A bootleged version could have a phone dialer app attached to it that c
and I just went and renewed mine... it's been a few years, but I'm thankful to not see anymore ads... oh how peaceful this site is without ads...
You should be able to renew from this weblink https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/purchase.asp You will probably never be able to do it through impulse again, but it's ok... give it time and something better will come :)
I am now having the exact same problem, just renewed last week. :( Waiting on response from Stardock, we'll see how it goes...
If you ask me that's insane... you won't find anything like that and if you did, it would be a huge cpu hog. Deskscapes is the first program of it's kind with somewhat low "usage optimization." Deskscapes is far better than anyother program made to do the same thing.
You may want to post some info. like what games, system config and such. I play lots of games, the new duke nukem, bulletstorm, crysis, unreal 3, and have never had an issue. It may be a setting in windowblinds, I remember something to the affect of "force skinning on DirectX apps" or something to that affect, as a setting. But i've been using windowblinds for 10+ years and I don't remember it ever giving me trouble when playing a game. a
Great software used it years ago before we had icon developer...well worth the price...
October whew...
This is confusing, where did you buy the game, what game did you buy? If you bought it on impulse you need to contact support. And the thread you are in is for Object Desktop which is not a game. What game did you buy and where did you get it? I'm sure someone on the site here can put you through to the right people. One thing to keep in mind is that most products purchased will installed through Impulse, which is basically another prog
You want to use Icon Developer... I have done this before, and that should do it for you... oh wow.. this is from October...
I'm gonna research this hypothesis and I'll be back in a few hours... I mean days, to let you know how it went... wish me luck...
https://forums.stardock.com/400125/page/1/#replies check it out this guy found the solution.... :) it's the Ariel font in your font folder... I replaced it and all was good...
here's how I did it... I uninstalled object dock , restarted, then installed the ariel font, and then reinstalled object dock... done that was it...
Ill be damned if that isn't it... I installed that Ariel font thinking that wasn't gonna do anything.. and it friggen worked.... problem solved...
i installed .net 4.0... and nothing... still the same problem... :(
just tried to install .net 2.0 and apperently it's a part of my operating system... so it wouldn't install it... but now I'm installing 4.0.. we'll see how that works....
interesting... does anyone think it has anything to do with .net? should I install 2.0 and then 4.0? and should I skip 3.0? I'm having no luck but I want my OD 2.0 to work....
Stardock has their moments, but you should email them again and they probably respond... everytime I haven't gotten a response the first time I sent it again... but I am having the exact same problem with the dock, and I have no idea why, I've tried everything from reinstalling, and all sorts of other things... exact same problem here... so what do we do about it... lol...
