thed2jbug, does it matter which subskin you use? it doesn't for me. no matter which sub i use the taskbar never stays yellow as it should. like i said, iu've had problems with the recoloring bit in wb forever. i really think i should format. it'll probably be my weekend project.
here is the solution to your problem for the second time... ;)
shouldn't the foot in the 'all programs' be yellow instead of violet?
the reason for this is that you can set the range of colors that are changed with the custom color feature... you need to select a smaller range of colors... that's it... I have this problem all the time ;)
the startmenu animation on encounter does rock...
here's mine... white christmas windowblind by Adni18, mycolors winter wonderland icons, magic, and origami object docks, and falling snow dream...
you need to install as Admin... that's my suggestion, but also turn off that UAC crap... I hate it, and I don't use it at all... you can download that install files, and right click on them.... then select run as admin...
Wireless... Google Chrome, or Opera?
Such a silly little detail. Thanks again
I'm glad you got it figured out ;) let me know if there's anything else you need... I'm always around :)
No WB skins will disable desktop composition.
that's not the effect that I'm having with certain skins it is disabled, and not others... when I try to turn it on with the WB 1x and 2x skins listed above it is off, and will not let me turn it on, any Idea why? It may be something we are all doing wrong... but as best as I can figure that is what is happening, deskscapes won't run with those old skins
is it related only with non WB6-ready skins?
I believe it is yes... the older skins disable desktop composition, and some them won't let it run at all.... it's sorta skin specific from what I can tell... skins with different options do different things...
now I'm not using any WB themes, just Vista Aero
as for you... the issue is unrelated to windowblinds then if you are using Aero, if your titlebars are trans
what I suggest is emailing stardock, and they will send you your download information again, it will have another download link, and download it again. it's got to be an issue with the installer...
what I did was click the deskop composition off then back on... and it worked... are you using the same theme as Dakai? I only tried it with the one theme...
actually I just got it working on my system... here's what you have to do... after you apply the skin... on the start menu select run then put in %windir%\system32\SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe this will bring up the advanced computer option, then hit the settings button under performance then check "Enable destop composition" and this will allow you to run deskcapes with Windowblinds XP skins, but some older skins still may not work... le
I went to DA and downloaded the skin, it's not designed for Vista... and it's not wb6.0 compatible, and as I've learned in the last few days that creates and issue with the DWM... so I'm gonna try a few things, and I'll be back on...
awesome.... :)
the reason being is that some skins disable the "Desktop Window Manager" resource in Vista, the trick is to find a way to turn it on while using those skins that turn it off... any one have a solution?
what you need to do is switch Windowblinds back to classic then back to the Vista Aero... I know this sounds like it would have nothing to do with it, but I had the same prob. on my system.... after that you can select what skin you want in WB, and your dreams should work... it worked for me... :)
under the windowblinds settings tab there is an option that says "ignore the taskbar defined, and select your own" or something like that ... select a taskbar from a modern vista skin, I'm thinking "classic" will work out, and with one of those task bars running the dreams should work again, hope this helps.... sorry I couldn't be more help... but I am still looking for an answer...

Windows 98 Skin This is a windowblinds 2.0 skin, and I tested it, it runs fine on vista and wb6.0 start menu worked fine, accept the user icon is misplaced, this is the best one so far, just follow these instructions for downloading it... For those who can't use this skin, it's because it was submitted the way wincustomize used to be set up - the description, preview ima
so I looked and found a few old skins that resemble classic in some ways... they work ok... but you will have to difine a start menu for them, and custom colors are pretty limited... also it helps to have classic mode on when you switch to these skins, windowblinds has a lot of problems because of the missing start menus... fantasiall <a href="https://www.wincustom
oh I see... hmmm... there used to be some very basic ones... back in the day... let me see if I can find something from the WB 1.x days... it will be very basic though...
You do own Windowblinds right? or are you trying to use the file as a MSStyle? The WBA files work when you open them using a program called Windowblinds which can be found on Object Desktop, which is a set of applications from Stardock....
I just thought I'd say that I've used this site for years and NEVER had real problem with it....
