Travis, Three groups of 4. One group on each side of the scales and one group on the table. You have now narrowed it down to one of four marbles. The Problem: You have a set of Balance Scales like the one shown here: You have 9 identical looking marbles. You can't tell the difference between any of the 9 marbles by looking at them. Mine doesn't make that much noise. My desk is an Oak Roll Top computer desk. The CPU sits inside the the desk behind a door. It has ventilation slots to keep it cool. I leave the door part way open most of the time. Some PC's make more noise than others. My son has a PC with a CPU fan and several other fans in it. It is a gaming machine. It sounds like a jet engine, so he turns it off at night, since it is in his bedroom.

I have a Flat Panel on my windows computer. I just turn it off and leave the computer running all the time. About the only time I reboot is when I install something new that requires it. Or, once in a while just because it's windows. Wish it would become as stable as UNIX. My UNIX box has been up for over a year without the need to reboot. At least the recent versions of windows are improving in that area.

Do you mean as far as it showing new additions to the thread automatically? Sometimes that works pretty slow. After I read a thread for a while, I usally want to update to see if soemone else has posted a new posting before I post.

Kona, I do use SD central when at home on my computer that has it. But I am not always on that computer. But I'm not sure what that does for me as far as knowing all the tricks.

What is the best way to see if a thread has been updated that you are curently reading? I usally hit "Return to Message Board" then see if it has been updated, but this requires leaving the thread. Can you simply hit the browser's refresh button? Again, if these things were in a FAQ that was easy to locate, like the one at the top of this Message Board, it would be of great assistance.
