Honestly if it just stays to the current target dates, I'll be awfully happy. I've waited 15 years for some more goodness, I can wait another few months. Or at least so I try to convince myself. [e digicons]:)[/e]
Having said that, I'll buy the game, not because its MOM2, (I haven't played MOM1) but because Stardock is making it.
Hear, hear! Granted, I'd not necessarily buy the next edition of Deer Hunter just because Stardock were to make it, but anything remotely in my areas of interest is a given if I know Brad and Co are behind it! -BiffMan ~SDC~ [Message Edited]

Having had the same EMS issue you're having on my Thinkpad where I don't have any issues on my home system, I'd poked around a bit looking for the answer. As Lord KiRon mentioned some hardware setups have issues doing EMS emulation and it sounds like resource issues are at the root of it. On my Thinkpad T30 at least, I can't get EMS active unless I shut down both the on-board NIC and USB support. Found a tip at http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/emsxp.html about some of the steps y

- A few times I could have sworn that my opponent took my interview. They generally appear in pairs, but sometimes after my opponent gets done moving all I can see is one interview for my opponent--nothing for me. Very strange. Will look into this further. A couple of times when I thought my interview h

Also noticed that the state wealth view is either wrong, misleading, or hard to interpret. On a standard (non-fantasy) game, it sure looks like the order of state wealth (brightest states) is TX, IL, CA, OH, FL, NY, PA when according to the actual wealth numbers listed in the state detail, it should be CA, NY, TX, FL, IL, PA, OH. At the very least PA and NY look exactly the same even though there's a large difference in wealth and TX and IL sure do l

Had issues with the JoeUser.com interviews in seperate games. One time I was already sitting in the state when the interview for my party appeared in the same state at the beginning of a turn and immediately brought up the yes/no prompt to do the interview. Selected yes and was kicked back to the main map without the interview taking place. Subsequent attempts to exit the state and return to activate the interview would get me the prompt a

Still getting the same lack of button graphics issues I was having with the previous build on my laptop at work. Buttons text is still there and clicking on it works, just no actual buttons. Also still have the same slide-show (1fps tops) problem on the main map screen. Pointer response and graphic update speed is fine in the setup and interview windows, but pretty nasty on the main map. I'd b

- Clicking no longer aborts the opening movie (pressing a key still does) And hitting escape in particular will abort the opening movie, but will jump straight to the options screen. Lack of financial awareness - Is there an easy way to see whether you're running in the red or not due to advert

Had a wierd one where the end turn button up and stopped working on turn 22. Didn't do anything particurally odd that turn, my last action had been a fund raiser with 3 stamina left. All other functions seemed to be active in the game and the end turn button would flash when clicked on, but no further action.

Good news is that beta 2 now works on my work laptop (think the 16MB SuperSavage S3 graphic card was the hold up before), but I'm getting a slide show (maybe 1fps at most) on the main screen. I've got 512MB RAM and a 1.3gig processor and it's not really hammering away at the drive, so it's probably graphic card related as well. It runs just fine on the interview screens, it's just the main map that clobbers it. Would be good to have options to turn

Ads can be turned off by clicking on the ad itself in the state and then the lower right screen (above turn button) will have an option to end the ad. Have also seen the "create ad" screen issues differ from what you see in the state, but I had figured that was by design and the ones on the create screen ad are the "standard" skew for that type of ad, but the detail you see in the state screen is

Ran fine on the home system at least and played a full game without a hitch. Good news about supporting lower end/older video cards... would be a shame to have to be productive at work!

Didn't notice till just now that the beta had been released... Can't get it to run from my work system, getting the same 20-25 seconds of a blank screen with orange cursor followed by a CTD. Later attempts to run will crash out faster, usually 10 seconds, but still always a CTD. System specs: IBM Thinkpad T23, 16MB S3 SuperSavage on-board graphic card, 512MB Ram, Cirrus Logic on-board sound, running WinXP w/ Directx 9.0b. Given that

The threshold's definitely pretty high... But it can happen. Usually only happens as a way for them to accept peace when you're about to eliminate them anyway. Would you want to give up a system unless you absolutely had to? ;) ~SDC~

And of course the ship gaining stats after you attacked it is just a simple matter of gaining experience. I'd imagine that it gained a level (or two?) after the attack, so make sure to look at that as well when you're comparing the before/after. That's why you always want to get that big and nasty starbase on the first or second attack. Attacking level 20+ starbases just ain't fun... ;) ~SDC~

Atari really is just a name these days unfortunately. They do get their name slapped on things from time to time, but the name itself has been sold off several times in recent years. There aren't any people behind that name at this point. Can't recall the exact date, but I think it's been around 5 years since the last "actual" Atari game. ~SDC~

Vynd - I'd forgotten the Renaissance skit, man that was good. :D tcjsavannah - Yep, that's the line. Thanks for the correction, had forgotten the tryptophan part... Hee hee... :) Yep, sure do miss TV's Frank (Sweet floppy frank) and Dr F... The skits they used to come up with were just wonderful. The excercise square to let you work on your "Shemp" area... Ah memories... ~SDC~

Joel (especially in the pre-Comedy Central ones, don't mind Mike, just mainly miss Frank and Dr Forester) Servo Cave Dwellers Although I'd definitely have to give a close second to Fugitive Alien for the same reasons mentioned by tjcsavannah... Already have the "Forklift" song stuck in my head just thinking about it... :) But Cave Dwellers and the final skit talking about the production and continuity issues... Man. "Okay, so Ator goes and kills some deer,
