Mojo - They most likely would destroy the colony on it, but you'd probably still make a profit in the trade itself.... One possible solution would be to have the AI seriously undervalue low PQ planets in trade. ~SDC~

Or possibly just let the AI win by tech victory same as we can (as has been frequently suggested and polled). If the game just ended when they hit the final frontier, then you'd still have a score, but it'd be naturally reduced by virtue of you losing. Should effectively take care of score balancing... ;) ~SDC~

Unless you're on a gigantic map at 100-150% zoom, in which case they're dots like everything else. ;) While we're at it though, it would be nice for previously discovered, but now AI-controlled resources to remain on the map in some fashion. I know there's a starbase there and I know that fog of war should prevent me from knowing how big it currently is, but the resource isn't going anywhere, so why not keep it marked? ~SDC~

In the early game (pre-starbases), influence is usually based largely on population and will have a radiating effect from the sector the planet is. Since the AI is quite good at maximizing population growth early on, they're likely just outgrowing you and you're seeing that reflected in their influence sphere. Naturally it's a bit more complex than that, but there's a good read on how it works in the encyclopedia section on the GalCiv site: http://www.galciv.com/encyclopedia.asp?act

Can't remember what all piled up but between the UP resolution upping their base speed to 5 and gravity accelerators and I think all of the speed techs, the end of my last game got kinda amusing. Constructors zipping around at a sector and a half per turn... :) ~SDC~

I was originally going to just keep the empire on invite-only for my friends, but then remembered that I don't have any, so I've opened up access to the Happy Fun Ball empire, so if you're looking for a home, feel free to drop on in. http://www.happyfunball.com/hfb.html (Apologies if this wound up being a duplicate post, never saw the original one from this morning show up) ~SDC~

"Don't pick a fight you can't finish" or "Don't become your enemy's enemy unless you're prepared" Frequently a game can go to hell in a handbag if you try to nab a couple of juicy planets and trigger a crusade instead. Likewise what starts out as a minor war frequently becomes all-out galactic war if you pick on someone and his friends/enemies decide they like him better than you. Usually why I prefer to attack someone with a combat transport stationed at each of his

Alot of what you see with luck is based on your faith that it's having an effect at all, but I'd concur with Fist of John in that I definitely notice it helping the combat odds. If the forcast for the combat is 7 to 4 or such, I'll quite often see it coming in at more of a range of 10-20 to 4 once the numbers actually start flying. ~SDC~

As an alternative to that, I'd settle for being able to drag all of the destination circles at a given location to a new one. Been plenty of times where I've had a bunch of ships vectored to a location and no longer need them going there and it'd be nice to just say "everyone who was headed to point A, now head to point B" and not have to go track down every ship that was heading there. ~SDC~
