Thanks for the responses, I'm a little sad to see that I won't be able to bargain technology with neutral powers for much of my economy, military and technology like I did in GC II but I can hold off until its fixed or if I want to report issues. Is there a roadmap thread or something of known issues? I don't want to report things for the thousandth time.

Okay, I just purchased about 50 ships, literally ever other factions navy for some not very useful techs and now I have multiple times the power rating of everyone else combined. I haven't even upgraded them all for free yet :/
This is a little ridiculous, I just purchased the entire Alterian navy for 8 techs, and now one turn later I've upgraded all their ships into something five times as powerful right before I declare war on them.
I was wondering why I could upgrade 12 ships for free from the UPGRADE ALL X TO Y menu, but when I did it manually it was bankrupting me The bad news is this means that every game seems to be a ridiculous arms race, with units gaining huge increases in capabilities every several turns :(
Some how the AI is totally down to sell you all their loaded colony ships for about 89 BC a pop, which means not only do you not have to build as many of your own, but you also get to preserve the population of your home world. You seriously just research universal translators, then send out your scout and then check in with the other races every turn or so and buy their colony ships as soon as they're made. Is this a known issue, am I m
