Oh, and saying the computer isn't playing smarter than you shows you don't know how the GC2 AI works. It's currently able to beat Frogboy (who writes the AI itself) on Tough, sheerly by capitalising on his mistakes. There's no evidence to suggest Frogboy is unusually good at playing GC2 - we only know that he's pretty good at programmi

The point of this rather long digression is that GCII is not 10^6 times more complex than your chess program from days gone by, it's probably closer to 10 times as complex with beautiful graphics and a gui interface. I strongly disagree. I'd guess that GC2 is, from a computational point of view, vastly more than a million times as complex as a ch

Until then its expansions Same argument applies. If they're netting $23 from my online pre-order of DA rather than $8 or $12 from a store sale, then my money is buying me twice the "votes" in favour of more work being done on the game I enjoy. Cost to me is the same.

Well I've already pre-ordered it, so... But perhaps when you've finished 1.4 you could release a "Total GalCiv" retail disk with GC1, AP, GC2 and DA all on one disk for those who don't like to download. It would probably have to be a DVD but I don't think that's limiting your market much these days. I guess this would be susceptible to warezing since there wouldn't be a need for updating, but by then everyone who wants to buy GC/GC2 online will already have it. It might make a nice

Most AIs in this style of game think they can push me around because they have a big military - and often I have a smaller one because I focus on economics. Then, when they declare war, I turn every planet into a war machine and proceed to show them who really has the larger military capacity. Usually, because of my focus on techs and economics, I actually have a larger ca

" We shall not flag nor fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France and on the seas and oceans; we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender and even if, which I do not for the moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our empire beyond the seas,

Do they work on Stock exchanges ? Morale resources are independant of stock exchanges or any other morale buildings. That's why people are saying it is far more effective to build a dozen constructors and get a 44% morale bonus on every planet than spend the same amount on morale buildings that give a 5% bonus.

I've just bought a 7900GS. They're insanely good value for money (basically a 10% faster 7800GT for the price of a 7600GT, and they'll overlock to 7900GT speeds).

I consider my navy huge if military support is around 20% of my budget. Your economy sounds like it must be pretty tiny, not "going through the roof", if 5 ships make such a difference. V1mTip™: An economy budget surplus of 100BC / round is not "going through the roof". It is "eating government cheese and watching free cable".
